Lambastard by Potku

For some, there is no cost too great for the acquisition of knowledge, and no act too vile done for the furthering of a cause. Such was the case for private investigator Bert Lambert, who found himself surrounded by snow and birch trees corrupted by the presence of the primeval shrine. Though months of work had lead up to this moment, Lambert couldn't bring himself to paint the sealing glyphs onto the blood-soaked stone table. His thoughts flooded with voices, urging him to make an offering, promising a reward. Could this be the answer he had been seeking?

LAMBASTARD

Lambastard is fully mouse controlled so you can drink your morning coffee while ~~bringing forth the end times~~ working on your highscore. Controls are displayed at the start of the game. - "No end in sight." The only goal is to survive and make offerings. You cannot win. - "Where'd you learn to shoot?" Bullets will miss unless the reticle is right on top of your target. - "No good can come of this." Best not to assume anything as friendly, even if you gave it life.

Definetly the best game i've played so far! The sounds and art were awesome which lead to a great feeling game.

The name works on so many levels. I love it.

The game is great, and pretty challenging. It wasn't obvious to me initially that floating skull would hurt me, and then I couldn't figure out how to kill it (even when I had bullets). I'll be coming back to try this one again later, I'm sure.

@pennycook Easy mistake to make with the skull, I could've done more to make it easily identifiable as an enemy but uh, missed the boat on that one. Oh, the instructions at the start contain a vital piece of information that may help you with your killing problem. Thanks for the compliments!

@314owen Glad you enjoyed it, it usually ends around the 20 to 25 mark for me, but a lot of people seem to find the ending a lot sooner! ;P But in all seriousness, perhaps it should.

@wowa Thank you! What if I told you it's actually possible to pick up already placed traps? When on top of one simply use the same button as you did to place it.

Very nice, solid horror feeling! Tight controls easy to understand, fast to pick up. Good audio-visually. Had fun playing it. Loved the increasing desperation as you bringing more sheeps to the sacrifice tomb while running through the raining blood >:)

Thanks @jantaaa ! Increasing desperation not only sums up the game quite nicely, but also fittingly describes the development process! :D Happy to hear you had fun with it and liked the look and feel. I put a bit of care into the audio as well, but alas, I did not make the sounds from scratch so I opted out of that particular rating category. Not like the effort is wasted though, as long as it adds to the overall experience, right?

Overall, a solid entry, I like the "Holy S**t" moments I found myself into while trying to run around not dying. Nice mood! I found it a bit hard, but it sure adds to the feeling of certain doom.
