growing darkness by rijnswand
We've tried to follow a bit of both themes, you've got to battle the growing darkness and you only use both mouse buttons. Although since the mouse also uses the pointer I guess we've only followed the growing theme.
The objective is to keep the fire alive, to do that you can move the character around with left click and interact with right click.
You can also lure the creatures that walk around the map to the fire to get extra time.
The game has been made with Blender's game engine so most of the rest of the work has been done with it as well.
This is the first ludum dare jam we try, and we're glad we've made it, even though we had to reduce the scope of the game quite a bit.
The game has only been tested on Nvidia cards, it may not work correctly with other brands. Leave a comment if you run into any problem.

Thanks everyone for playing and commenting! :)
I'll be uploading a post-jam build today with some fixes, and hopefully keep working on the game some more time to make it bigger.
I know that the BGE has problems with AMD cards, but here worked fine (HD5870). If someone have problems, please try to update the openGL drivers.
Mid game i didn´t want to burn the orbs because i felt attached to them :( so i had to decide if i wanted to keep burning wood and the orbs or just let the time take me. Not sure if that was intentional but if it wasn´t that can be a nice "direction" to explore. :)

Also, the little wispy guys didnt seem to add time to my fire? Am I missing something?
Nice look, not sure what the smoke dudes were doing, I said hi a few times without consequence but they didn't really seem to care.
Add in a soundtrack next time for more ambience.
A few technical issues cropped up for me:
- The audio entirely stopped for me after a minute or two.
- The mouse icon seemed to show up sometimes when I was a little too far to interact.
- The mouse icon seemed to appear without a particular button specified (just the white mouse body was visible) when close to wood piles fairly often. Right-clicking on the wood still worked in these cases.
I couldn't get it to run in fullscreen with made it slightly less than perfect (my screen adjusts exposure in a weird way), and after the fire got to zero it kept going till -20 or so which as a bit anti-climactic. If you can think of some dramatic or emotional way to end this it would be perfect :)
