Happy Loot by Aycan

[raw]

1.png

You control a happy guy in a gold spawning dungeon. But there are other happy guys too. Don't let them slaughter you. Simply collect the gold and try to survive. By the way, more gold means less speed and agility :( I was planning to make a brighter and funnier game but the worst time planning ever ...

Right Mouse Button - Move

Left Mouse Button - Attack

Z - Guard

X - Flash

When the theme was first announced, I couldn't think anything but browser games like agar.io or classic games like snake (rip creativity). This is the final result. When you carry more gold, your walking and turning speed decrease. I used the same font with my previous ldjam game, and every other asset is designed for this game.

This was fun! For a second I thought I was in an actual online lobby, lol.

I got 32 coins before I was too slow to do much of anything and died, but this was one of the more fun games I've played so far!

I like to give suggestions too on every review since we're here to learn, but all I really have is that some of the corners were tough to navigate around... not really much of a complaint!

Good job!

Its difficult to navigate in the game. Still a nice game though.

70 coins and 212 seconds

Dark-forest typed game mechanics promised the fun of this game. However the control is not good and feedback is not cool.

maybe an arrow animation when you click on the ground? and make hit animations such as screenshakes, knockbacks, and blade effects.

the walls sometimes block raycast.

anyway, the most thing need to be imporved is the ai. they always ignore the player.

The key of videogame's ai is not how clever they are, but the player can understand what they are doing, I mean, empathy

There is some glitch in the controls, but it was fun killing for coins :D

I came here to ask if it was multiplayer.. But then I saw that it's not.
very cool concept. I liked it.

Nice idea (mine was really similar :D). I would really enjoy a .io version of this game as it already kind of feels like one.

At times I felt that the character was difficult to control. The attacking felt really good.

Would be amazing as multiplayer, however even as a sigle it was fun :) However sometimes I was not able to hit anyone even when I stood in front of them, maybe bad collison masks?

47 coins for 115 seconds, not bad? Really fun concept, like a distilled version of battle royale games that have done so well lately. I'd love to see a full game expanded out from this concept! Controls are hard on a laptop trackpad though...

44 or so coins by the 3rd attempt, fun but short-lived. Nice mix of moves with the flash/block/attack options.

Really nice game! Like the theme and feel. The controls are however not really "right" for me, right-click to move is not how "other" games do it. :)

I was bumbling with controls until I realized that holding RMB does nothing - only first click decides move direction. It's very unintuitive. I feel like WASD for movement and mouse for looking/actions would serve this game much better. Still had fun, and sword sound effect is hilarious.

The movement isn't that great, but I really like the combat. Good job!

I achieved all 70 coins!
I dunno if it was a bug, but I felt like only sometimes my character moved slower from the coins, but I was clicking rapidly.
Fun game though! Felt like the game should have ended when I got all the coins though :disappointed:

Good job creating a faux multiplayer coin collect-a-thon in a compo. Had me fooled there. Controls were weird but that's part of the point, I felt. Nice one.
