Rhythm Racing by Sammy6
A mix of a rhythm game and a racing game, for my first Ludum Dare! Just like Dance Dance Revolution. Press the arrows to drive faster, and avoid obsticales! Sorry for lag, I can't help it.

That being said, I really loved the music and the art style. Feels very polished and probably a lot of fun if you are any good at this type of game ;)
I feel like I leveled up in rythm games just by playing this game. Taking care of the rythm game and moving the car at the same time made my brain so some extra work.
Some things:
-The game needs a objective. It's fun but it gets old fast without something to strive for
-The moving the car mechanic was way to simple. Maybe putting some obstacles in the road and making the rythm game a bit easier would create an overall better experience.
The idea was very good!
Kepp up the great work!
Now onto the game itself, to start of about the theme, the incompatibility is great, but it doesn't feel that the genres u choose are incompatible. It's more that a person is almost unable to do two things at the same time.
Graphics wise, can't really say anything. For a game made in scratch, a solo person and a first game jam, I would say good work. It all looks even, nothing that feels weird. Maybe only the end score boxes, but I suppose that's a scratch limit.
Gameplay itself wise, just as some people above said. The game is hard. Like really hard, this is mostly due to a person not being able to do two things at the same time, so not really your fault. It's fun, simple, perfect for your first game jam, now I only accept better. 😉
Feedback and idea on what u could do better:
It would be great to have some kind of visual feedback that you got a arrow right.
Difficulty wise, maybe u could make it easier as a start, and then ramp up difficulty. Just so that people can understand the mechanics before freaking out.
A way to make the game easier is Maybe add some kind of indication how the road is going to be soon.
Nonetheless, I enjoyed the couple of minutes I played the game for, and we understand the hard work needed to create something like this! 😊 Our team also worked hard to create a game for the jam. You can check it out [here](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/wizsnooks)! 🐳
I don't find where is racing gameplay (only graphics?)
That was fun! Really good work!
Make sure to give ours a quick look as well.

The game is very nice, I love the audio and graphics, and it's spot on on the theme (it's very hard to do both tasks at the same time). However, as a big fan of DDR, there are a couple of suggestion that might help you improve it:
- Sometimes it's hard to see whether we got the arrow of we missed. You should had a little animation saing "perfect" or "Ok" for every arrow that was successfully hit, like the real DDR games
- The song is very long, and it's hard to "keep the rythm" for several minutes. Maybe you should split it in shorter 1min-1min30 songs and do several levels.
- It would be cool to add "speed meter" on the GUI, so we could now whether the car is running at full speed or not.
Anyway, congrats on your entry!
