Trying to hit the enemies is frustrating, running out of time on the rot is frustrating. Just a lot of the design in the challenges seem really obtuse as you run out of time but have that time lowered on a very precise enemy to avoid. Didn't feel good to be successful at it either. I gave up half way I think.\n\nI like the art-style and there seems to be a lot of content in the game. So it's a good effort and a decent idea. That makes more sense! Just making sure as some people sometimes don't fully understand the rules and do that by mistake sometimes. Thanks for replying! I'll play your game now!\n\nI love the mechanic, I also like how you tied it to a story (I did this a few LDs ago, back on the old site). The only thing I don't like about it is how the shooting works. I find it very hard to time my shooting to hit enemies that are jumping or too short to hit. I feel that if I could shoot in any direction, it would feel a little less constricting.\n\nI like the graphics, I like minimalist graphics the most as I find it more communicative of it's purpose.\n\nYou did a great job!","likes":0,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"hunttis","author_uid":"1004192","time":"2018-12-27T20:07:19Z","epoch":1545941239,"modified":1545941239,"text":"Crazy performant game :D Obvious considering what you used.\n\nI liked the mechanic, but it did make the game very hard. You shouldn't be so hard on yourselves, you have something really original here, I think it is just a few tweaks away from being a top-tier entry\n\n- the enemies are very hard to hit\n - the first enemy you encounter should be much easier to hit\n - maybe you could crouch in order to shoot lower?\n - or maybe the mouse could be used to aim 360 degrees?\n\n\n- the game mechanics need more communication, e.g.\n - as you move, you see particles floating away from you, to signify that you are losing health\n - when you are near death, you may see some extra filter or overlay\/effect\n - when you kill an enemy, the enemy drops particles which fly towards the player. This way you see the character being visibly 'healed'.\n - when you reach full health, your character sparkles or glows or something\n - audio can help a lot here too (accompanying sfx for all 4 of the above points)\n\nBesides that, I think the game could benefit from some kind of tutorial section, maybe some more focused level design to ensure that the player understands each concept. And of course music could be a great addition.\n\nBut yeah, overall I enjoyed it and think what you have is really promising. I don't think there is anything fundamentally 'not fun' about it, it just needs some changes.","likes":0,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"PolyCement","author_uid":"1133395","time":"2018-12-31T18:30:27Z","epoch":1546281027,"modified":1546281027,"text":"Really nice game, and especially impressive given the tools used.
