Tomorrow or When the world is not bigger than a house

Get all the tasks right, damn it!

Am I really that useless?

Who are you?

Leave me alone! I don't need your help.

Wait, no, I'm sorry, I can get this right.

Tomorrow I will get it right.

Tomorrow we will get this right.

Music was developed during the jam too. Please, use your headphones.

Its kinda like you're stuck in one of those Doctor Who time loop episodes. Where you have to try and change something a little bit each time to escape. Thought it was kinda neat. But I just feel like something is missing. Maybe its just a lack of mini games due to the time requirements for the jam. Im not super sure.

That said. I like that it feels like you could draw parallels to a number of different people with one game. Maybe this is a stay at home Freelancer who feels like they've gotten trapped into an endless loop because of their job. That or perhaps its a college student. I dunno. But you could certainly do almost anything with a point and click game that feels like you're caught in an endless loop. Lots of different stories that you could tell with that setting and I think you should totally expand upon it.

That said. What exactly are you supposed to do with the Shower nobs? or is that just to mess with you as a pseudo mini game and drive the player nuts?

Either way I like the concept. Just feels like its missing that little "Something" as it were. But overall nice work. This was also featured in the second episode of my Larry Does Ludum 38 series. Which you can see here:

Thanks a lot for your review!
About that "freelancer or college student" thing you're actually right. This game is inspired by a true story.

About the nobs, it was our fault it's hard to understand what you have to do. We'll see how we fix that. Basically, the two dots on the nobs have to be up and then you have to click on the shower.

We promise to keep working on it and actually think about the idea of parallel stories.

Your feedback is really appreciated!

Interesting idea for the theme. A little depressing, but perhaps in a motivating way. I like the music and visuals a lot.

I definitely think that you should expand this with more things that happen, especially to the character's psyche as he continues through the pointless days.

I really like this concept. I wanted to do something with a settling like this but went with another idea better suited to my strengths. I think most people should be able to relate with this theme.

Main confusing part is how there's very little feedback that gives you a better idea of how to operate the shower. Otherwise, I like this little game.

Wow, great idea. Reminded me of Groundhog Day movie somehow, trying to do everything right. Except that doing everything just right here takes you to the positive ending, nice!¨

Thanks for posting the hint about the shower (I actually re-downloaded the game to play it through once I knew what the shower goal is)... I was like Fu***** shower as well, just like the character in the game. By the way, does he have a name?

Graphics are really nice and the melancholic music adds to the mood of the game. Keep up good work!

Nice concept, I got stuck on the shower but went back to this page and saw the instructions. Good job overall. If you get a chance check out our game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/down-the-rabbit-hole

@cvtek0 thanks a lot for your review! His name is Isaac.
I'm really glad you liked the graphics and music. There are many things to fix in both, but it's good to know it's going on the right direction.

@those-30-ninjas thanks! And of course we will, we always play the games from those who rated us!

Very interesting idea, I like the whole concept, story and leveldesign. The visuals and sound added much to the mood. The game held me for quite some time but after 15+ days I just did not manage winning that video game.
A little bit more feedback would be nice. More different messages at each daycicle would also work well i think.

@awesomealliterationalliance I'm really sorry you couldn't get the "happy ending". We are aware of the lack of feedback issue. The main problem here is our game designer is a college student and he had like a million exams on the week after LD, so he didn't have enough time for us. He's a great game designer and I'm sure he will fix these problems as soon as he can.

Thanks for playing!

Nice work! Could not beat the mini-game. A bit of variety might be for good.
Like how the ending gives a thought. Thanks for the game!

Really enjoyed playing - although I didn't get very far. It was very clear what to do most of the way through. Felt bad he always had to wear the green hoodie! :-) Nice music - although it does make it feel sad. It has loads of potential - so keep working on it!

Thank you all, guys!
@Bunnery The green hoodie is actually a real thing. This game is inspired by a true story and the green hoodie exists in real life. Glad you liked the music! It was meant to be sad, so somehow it's a good thing it made you feel that way.

@Ashtheevil I should've made that mini-game (the one in the computer) easier since it's actually a placeholder until we think some better puzzles.

Fun little game. Couldn't understand the shower, but eventually figured the rest out and had a good time, and once I read the comments I figured it out and got the ending. Overall, a very nice succinct entry!

Very interesting look into someone's life. I included it in my Ludum Dare 38 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :)

I really enjoy story-driven games. As part of the minority in this group, the shower was actually the first puzzle I figured out. The coffee drove me a little crazy, (Sugar? I already gave you sugar! What's wrong with you!?), but I finally managed the 'good' ending on the fifth day.

I'm not sure if you intend to return to this project (story-driven games tend to see less polish because a majority of people will only play it once), but I would have liked to see a little more internal monologue variation from day to day, outside of each task.
