Click Soccer by Kurama_Youko

[raw]
made by Kurama_Youko for LD 41 (COMPO)

Click Soccer is a Turn-Based Point'n'Click Soccer game. Made entirely with pure HTML+CSS+JS, no libraries or frameworks or engines, not even canvas! Couldn't work on Saturday, so this is what I could deliver in my limited time.

  • Improved Jam version done! Includes audio and bug fixes. But you still have to rate the compo version!

WASD or Arrow Keys - Move highlighted player

Click field or another player - kick

Hahaha we thought alike! I have also made a turn based soccer game with point and click mechanics! I just finished so I'm taking a break, but I will definitely take a look at yours later. Cheers and good job! :)

Congrats for your entry done in half the compo time!
I like the graphics and the overall gameplay. I had a hard time figuring out how to shoot, but once I figured out that you can click on the opponent players too to "steal" the ball from them, I started scoring goal after goal!

The overall mechanics is interesting, it could definitively make a fun web games with more polish and a stronger AI (for now, it's too easy to "steal" the ball from the opponent players)

I am super impressed that it's all web hosted and loads so quickly! So refreshing after seeing so many .exe games.
Looks amazing too!
I found it very hard though.

this is some impressive stuff, although once you get it, ai is... weak. I think its unclear when you or opponent has the ball especially when on same case(?). Nonetheless, its a fun idea, executed nicely great potential!

Enjoyed it! Won 5-0 so far in my second game. First match I did take 3 goals! I thought the AI was though but it was indeed easily beatable! Well done

Amazing that this runs in codepen. The graphics look lovely, the players have a Subbuteo look about them. The AI is lacking which is to expected as you said you did all this in one day.

I am so bad at this. How does one get the ball? Nice graphics but some sound would add a lot.

I'm surprised how well the gameplay worked. It is turnbased, but still feels like a soccermatch. Well done. And nice JAM version too!

I'm seriously impressed by how well this game all hangs together. My only gripe is it can be tricky to know who has the ball when you + the cpu have a player on the same square

Really well done. I wish I could choose which player to control at any time. I like the style of the graphics a lot, and I didn't encounter any bugs. Good work.
