For The Dog by theomaniacal

Incompatible Genres: Depressing Platformer (Those are genres... right? I wanted to combine an incompatible narrative genre and game genre. While the character is depressed, platforming is near impossible.)
Jammed by just me. Hope to hear feedback! Thanks for checking it out!
WASD: Directional Movement
Spacebar: Jump
Use F: Interact With Objects
LMB: Fire Weapon
RMB: Equip/Unequip Weapon
Use R: Manual Reload
Fire the gun downwards to boost yourself up! You only have (25) rounds in your magazine, so use them wisely! Gun recoil works like CS/PUBG (pull down to compensate).

The difficulty was very nice! Not too difficult, but also not easy.
The physics were fun (rocket jumping mechanic)!
The theme's genres were a bit weak, as they didn't really effect gameplay;
at least they were something different and gave the game a some-what emotional twist :)
I liked the story aspect of the game.
Fun game!
_Also, good doggo ;)_
As for depression, I knew that it would be difficult to capture in just a short game jam. I definitely overscoped that a bit and had to rush the depression elements, so apologies if it came off as angry! Again, really appreciate the feedback!

I loved the shooting the ground mechanic, the levels quickly eased me in as it was a rush to reunite at the end
One thing I would add would be the addition of traps, just having the mobs of people got tiring the eye after a while and it would be great to see different enemies/hazards to negotiate.
A stretch goal would be a level select screen for each levels just in case I wanted to replay a section easily and track progress.
But wow, what a great experience - Thank you for making this game!
