HOW TO PLAY

The ship is too slow to make the game really fun. I could have been a great game if everything was a little faster. The game mecanics are good.

The game has no sound? That would have improved it a lot I think. Also everything is quite slow, and I'm not sure if there is a way to gain more power? Or is it just over after a limited amount of time when you run out of power?

A very simple game. I really like the idea of having a rear shield that can block everything, and a front shield you can activate.

@Simon-Millard I did have sound and music. I can hear the sound in Chromium and Firefox. What browser are you using, and what version is it? You gain power over time and by collecting the orbs. (They cannot touch either shield.)

First of all I liked the graphics.

But the game is not very balanced so far. I never managed to shoot another ship because the ships are faster than the shots.

Also the health meter depletes pretty slowly.

My main strategy in the second attempt, was just to stand still and shoot regularly. In this way I could even get some of the spaceships! :)
My score at the end 630 points.

I really like the game concept and the idea for the game mechanics. I think that a simple improvement for the game that would make it more fun to play would just be to speed the movement/shots up. Pretty good for a compo though, congrats!

Damn I really wish that even the bullets moved faster. I'm ok with how slow the ship turns honestly but the gun is too slow to be worth using. Its a shame though cause I think you have a really cool idea here. I did have some fun just spinning around and occasionally using the shield though. Its still a cool game.

The shooting is slow, I couldn't find any way to recharge the power. Because even turning takes power, it really limits how far you can get in the game. A lot of balancing is needed, but the core concept has some innovation.

The main problem with this game is that the ship is much larger and slower than it should. A smaller and quicker ship will control nicer and improve the game a lot.

Interesting concept, I agree with others that the pace is a bit slow, but it is an interesting idea.

I like the idea you have here. The graphics are okay, and I didn't have any issues with the controls. The mechanics are simple and easy to understand, which makes picking the game up and playing it easy. Also, it's always good to see another Godot user!

Like the others have said there are quite a few balancing issues. The ship's gun is not really usable, and turning is very slow. This could be a very simple and fun game with some re-balancing and polish. Good job!

Great concept, but I got a really hard time trying to hit a ship. Also turning the ship are to slow ( as many others mentioned ).

I like the way that turning the ship consumes power and the idea of the shield. I took some time to notice that the blue orb was actually the `orb` to power up, I keep trying yo shoot the stars on the background ( white blocks thats keeps coming and going ) but I guess thats just me.

Nice job!

Congrats on finishing a game in such a short time! Would be more fun if it turned faster, if bullets came from the gun (instead of the center of the screen) and if it was a bit more obvious when you hit something.

Interesting game.

The game concepts are solid. I agree with others that increasing the speed of your own projectiles, as well as the turning speed, would allow for greater control in the game. With a faster turning speed, the decision of whether to use the back-shield or the energy-siphoning front-shield would be more tactical.

I found it a bit difficult but it was quite fun! maybe if you sped up the gameplay (the turning felt a little slow) and added powerups etc. It could be better, but still this is nice. I liked it!

Good job!

It looks like background music a little bit contradicts the game mood, and faster shots would make game more interesting

It would have been nice if the score persisted, because once you die you can't see it.

This has the beginnings of a good game, but it needs some balancing. For instance, the player's ship rotates too slowly to react to incoming missiles, and the shots are very slow. That being said, I think you'll get there because all of the elements are there.

This was an interesting game, quite difficult to play I must say! It was hard to turn my ship to where the shoots are coming from in time. Balancing power with protection (shield) was also tricky, but a must for the gameplay :) The simple graphics are a match to the game, however I felt that the music was not really matching the rest. I felt it was too funny for the action that was happening. Overall nice game, I think you can make it even better :)

I like the mechanic of the back shield. I actually thought that the ship generally turned sufficiently fast - fast enough to avoid some lasers but still also collect orbs. The only thing that I found too slow was shooting - it is very difficult to aim given how fast the enemy ships are moving and how slow you can shoot. It really isn't possible to predict that far ahead to aim properly.

I also think that the music does not really fit, and more sound effects in general would be good.

Nice graphics, simple concept. After the first sound effect I heard no more? Music was better than no music :D
Movement would have been nice, maybe more of a traditional shootemup.
