GoIn- Behave or GET LOST! by gurkenlabs

indiedb-banner.png GoIn -Behave or GET LOST! is a 2D bouncer simulator. You manage a night club and need to make sure your customers are happy in order to rid them of their sweet, sweet dollars! itch1_small.gif

HOW TO PLAY:

Make sure that your guests are happy! If a person's personal space is invaded, they get dissatisfied and stop spending money. This game is played with the mouse only: Mark guests by clicking on them, then decide if you want to let them stay in your night club or if they deserve to get thrown out.

CONTROLS:

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!: To promote the gradually growing community around our open-source Java 2D game engine LITIengine, we've decided to provide the source code for "GoIn - Behave or GET LOST!" in a public repository on GitHub.

So if you are getting started with LITIengine, consider taking a look at this game's code, even though there may be some really ugly bits of jam code.

A little bit hard to play it with a mouse. The touchscreen would be great.

Graphics and audio are nice and I am very surprised you've made it using a Java-based engine.

The graphics looks really nice, but is the mouse supposed to be hard to control? I mean the mouse movement is not linear. Here is what I am talking about: https://imgur.com/a/ijjmZWD

nice idea and felt really polished! i would like to see more dynamic events or unique things that could happen. or perhaps a day/night system like a game like paper's please?

@luca1152 This is not at all intended. Thanks for recording it! Which platform are you playing on?

Idk, I feel like it's missing a goal or something..
But the game is very polished, good job!

very, very good idea. But the game is very monotonous if only you can have special events or do some more stuff It will be amazing.

Really nice graphics and soundtrack. The gameplay was quite easy and could be expanded upon.

Fully enjoyed this game. It looked and sounded great and was a nice use of the theme with a funny little idea.

Having to eject a lot of naked people goes against my own #nakedlittledude (the game I have been working on) but boy was it good fun.

This could be expanded on a lot too so would be nice to see this in the future with new bits added.

The game looks really good but there are a few things I have to mention:
- The game got quite repetitive quite fast because there's only one condition for kicking someone out
- The "clubbing since" time seems to be completely random as it would sometimes show time later than the current time
- You might also want to explain that we need to kick out naked people a bit better
- The mouse was completely bugged out when playing the game on my 2k monitor, even without fullscreen and with 1080p resolution

But it's a solid prototype and with some more work could become a real game. And kudos for using/making your own engine of course!

@luca1152 have you been playing on a 2K monitor too?

@gurkenlabs Nope, my display is 1080p and I played at 1080p.

@luca1152 thanks. Does changing the resolution and window mode in the config.properties - file change anything?

@gurkenlabs Nope. Messed with all the options and none of them solved my problem :(

Great hilarious entry!
I like the art a lot, and the overall idea is quite fun. But as it was pointed out, it gets a bit monotonic. A couple of features like different events or using the money to upgrade the club would be awesome. Other than that, you did a very good job for the short time provided!
