ShootBall by Andro

DodgeBall and Shooting, what can go wrong?

In ShootBall you can play DodgeBall as a shooter game.

Picking up weapons and balls is done by looking at the item and pressing E.

Before you play: The AI is really hard to beat and it requires a really great ability to dodge and to aim. Also, different weapons deal different damage, the order is : Hand, Pistol, Automatic Riffle.

Update: In order to make the game more enjoyable, I have buffed weapons and added an enemy health bar.

The AI on the 2nd round was pretty buggy. Couldn't kill the guy despite hitting them a lot. Interesting concept.

I think that your game could've been extremely fun with a bit more polish. The movement is ok, so are the shooting mechanics. I feel like the second level is too difficult but the AI works well so that's a plus. Rudimentary sounds and programmer art bring this game down a bit but when it comes to game jam creations mechanics are more important than the look of the game. On the whole, I think ShootBall has very solid mechanics and it follows the theme. Good job!

I think it's a great start - the AI seems to work well, if it was more balanced it could be a lot more fun, as it's almost impossible to hit it at the moment. I also found picking up items hard - you have to get very close to them and be very exact about where you're looking.

this game needs some work. The idea is so awesome. The execution was awesome too. The part that needs work however is teaching and difficulty curves. When i started the game i saw a gun but had no idea how to pick it up. The game had never illustrated to me how to do so. I never figured it out unfortunately. The AI works really well for what i saw. The First level however is a bit to hard for someone starting. This game is very great overall. A lot of polish and touch-up would help tremendously.

Very interesting idea. I am kind of confused why you had a gun model but still shot dodge balls but I guess that is to fit with the theme.

I also agree with @Mektidas you should add some screenshots and a cover image, but I understand you were busy the last few weeks.

Anyways, congrats on finishing your jam! :)

Ultra cool concept!
The idea of the game is really interesting! Picking up guns were a bit difficult and the AI is hard to predict to put an strategy together. With a little more polish it can become a new sport category.
There are just not enough dodgeball games out there.
Congratulations!

@kittyinthestudio Thanks for the feedback, I didn't have enough time to make a full tutorial as I was full for a whole day and my artist didn't manage to finish the models in time, so I had to use the 'programmer art'. The only thing he managed to do is the guns and I am happy because I wouldn't want to shoot from a cube. Anyways, since I didn't get to finish the tutorial, I said a bit about the game in the page's description, including the key to collect items: E.
