Thank you so much to all the people that are playing, we appreciate it a lot. This is the first game that we made and we are proud of it, but we going to keep working on it to do a better game. Thank you.

Good job.

One other minor gripe is the wasted screen space. Just look at all that blue space begging to be turned into a cave .
• Graphics are cute and attractive;
• No music and SFX;
• In my opinion if you work on this topics, you can finish this game to a mobile level, very addictive and so on.
Anyway, thanks for the nice little game, I certainly enjoyed my time with it!

We are so happy that you liked the game.
We are happy you liked our little drawf viking ^^
We need to increase the difficulty and add SFX and music, we have so much work to do yet xP

We are so happy that yo like the game! :D
Yeah i know, i spend a lot of time in make the animation and the character and then i couldnt made a good background :S but i will change it and make it better ^^
I like the viking, but the game ran really poorly for some reason (windows 7 64, core i7 6700, gtx 1060)
It's a fun game and I really enjoy it!
I think with some polishing it can get a really nice game
and maybe you upload it to a platform!
Maybe you also check out my entry.
ps. wouldnt mind a little more control over my character, maybe the ability to swtich directions once per platform? Just a thought as i find i might not be abe to take a shot before being killed.
As I always do, here follow some suggestions I think could improve your game:
+ :pushpin: Too simple (even for casual players)
+ :bulb: Add some enemy behavior variations
+ :bulb: Add some player behavior variations
+ Look for some power-up inspiration from *Arkanoid* :video_game:, *Touhou Project* :video_game: and other 2D shooting games
+ :pushpin: Player has only one chance (or two) to land hammer correctly, and he/she can't do anything about it
+ :bulb: Allow player to increase walking speed by spending a gauge that auto-fills with time
+ :pushpin: No replayability (game is always the same)
+ :bulb: Increase level of difficulty with time (speed increase for instance, game becomes faster and faster). But remember: higher risk, higher reward.
+ :bulb: Add other changes based on match duration or score, like new enemies, new patterns.
:warning: What I said above is just a bunch of suggestions. Its just the way I approach the games I create, maybe it helps you, maybe not.
:star: A nice point of your game is being mobile (and casual) friendly as it requires only a single input (tap). This is the kind of constraint its super hard to handle for mobile stuff, but also has a high market value for that public.
Actually I don't think the core design should be changed. I think it probably works this way if you just add a bunch of new mechanics. It should work.
The graphics are quite nice IMO.
That build its only for the ludum, the real build its for movile, sorry if that build not work well :S
Thanks so much for your coment ^^

Thanks so much for your comments and your tips ^^ We are keep working!
We are so happy that you like the game!
I don't know i anyone else mentioned, but hitting the spcebar to quick re-play or having a 3,2,1 timer then auto restarting would have kept me from aving to switch between mouse and keyboard. Also, I feel with more time to polish you'd have a nice mobile clicker.
Anyways, nice work!
Good job :)
That's a nice little arcade game which fits well for mobiles!
As some others already pointed it out, it's lacking a bit of gameplay to keep the player interested enough to play again many times.
A bit more UI would have been nice, like for example where you're going to hit when you launch your hammer, and as well having some feedback when you can throw again your hammer.
As it seems it is your first game, I allow myself to give you some links to talks which could help you to improve your games, they're really good ones!
- Talk from Rami Ismail with advices for game jams: https://youtu.be/6sqcFNjE2Gw
- “Juice it or lose it” by Martin Jonasson & Petri Purho: https://youtu.be/Fy0aCDmgnxg
- “The Art of Screenshake” by Jan Willem Nijman: https://youtu.be/AJdEqssNZ-U
Good job again! :)
Some criticisms:
- due to the timing of the blocks that fall, the player is lucky if they get more than one shot at hitting them, making the game pretty stressful from block one. It would be better to be more forgiving at the start, and ramp up to more challenging speeds after the player has a feel for the mechanics.
- there was an exit button on the loss screen, but it didn't seem to do anything
- as others have mentioned, it's lacking the level of depth + polish needed to keep people playing more than a couple rounds
Having said that, it's a nice start, especially for a first attempt!
Honestly I don't think I can say anything that wouldn't have already been said in the comments, as this is a relatively straightforward game. You have the tools for this basic concept, and I really think it could work as a fun arcade mobile game with more content added to it (plus sounds and music). The one thing I did find myself wishing when playing this jam version is that there was a button for restarting the game, like pressing the spacebar, instead of having to click on the Retry button. Also I was able to pause the game on a game over, but it only brings up the pause screen, and this goes away once I hit "Retry". Finally, maybe you could consider varied widths of target areas, which also would change up difficulty.
All in all, good fundamentals, and if you continue to work on this, I can only see additional content benefitting the game.
Nice work!
Needs sfx and a little bit more polish on the graphics, and you could release it on mobile.
Would love to see sfx and/or music for your next one as well!
