Floor It !

A lonely hero, lawless cowboys, killing machines, ... Embark on a synthwave journey to Los Angeles alongside our mysterious driver and his robots companions ... but beware to not be sacrified ! In this world, "Neon" is scarce, and your old trustworthy neon powered car won't move on it's own ! Better hope to not be the one scraped away in order to start the engine !

Gameplay

The gameplay is a rotation between a Shoot'Em Up phase, a gestion phase, and a textual phase where you have decisions to take. The core of the game is composed of 5 levels, and in order to start one level you have to spend one currency named "Neon".

The Neon

The Neon is the one and only currency in the game. There is 2 ways to obtain Neon : either with the textual events, or by scraping your car/your robots. That's where the notion of sacrifice comes up. Sometimes, if you're not lucky enough, you'll HAVE to give up on one of your travel mate (that means losing their damages and skill). Then again, Neon is more than just the currency you need to start a level, it is also the currency you need to repair your car (that means regaining your hp !).

How to play

Here are the keys you need to know : - WASD or ZQSD to move your car (during the Shoot'Em Up phases) - Space to slow your car - Simply click on the buttons during the textual phases to choose what you want to do - */!* Don't forget to put all your robots in your car before starting the level ! */!* - In the menu phases, you can click on the portrait of a robot to get detailled information on him !

The bullet hell gameplay was pretty fun! It would have been nice to have some sort of visual feedback on enemies to show that they were getting hit by your bullets - It had a hard time figuring out if I was killing something, or if I was just barely missing, so having some sort of feedback would have helped make the shots feel more impactful.

I love bullet hell games and I love this one! Also I was amazed on how much content there is here with the decision making, menus and so on!

Several things though: Menu is hard to navigate at first since it's not clear where the buttons are and what they do. Also Some particles and effects would have helped.

But really well done!

Very good sounds and graphics. But gameplay for me a bit boring. Although fix windowed mac version. Because now at start screen i was not be able to see the start button which was located under my screen border.

It was a little hard to distinct from the neon ground and red projectiles when everything is moving so fast. Otherwise, it was a lot of fun! I loved the story breaks in between the driving, and really enjoyed the use of the theme. great work!

Found it a little difficult to navigate the menu, perhaps because the buttons did not stand out from the regular text as is they are the same color, similar size, and missing a visual queue that they are interactible. The it took me a bit to get the level going as it wasn't clear that I needed to first put the robots and then go for it. I think it would be nice if selecting to start a level would then prompt to add robots and indicate you cannot continue until doing so. It was also a bit hard to see the bullets at they are similar in color and shape to the neon lights.

Aside from those minor things, the game has potential if the UI and graphics are tweaked to give the players more accessibility. Good job

Very nice entry! It was hard choices to pick something to sacrifice, and the choices between the stages were fun.

Wow! I love the music, art and attention to detail. You made quite the interesting game. Reminds me of Fallout in some ways. I love the 80s neon punk combined with post-apoc mad max aesthetic. I enjoyed playing around in this world. The music is really well done. I would recommend adding some sound effects for when you kill enemies, it's the the main thing missing in the sound design, but other than that, really well done!

I liked text choice and how your answers changed the game! I like the graphics and music! It was a bit hard to see projectiles as they were a bit too similar to the background
