Overall I liked the feel of surfing once I got used to the controls, although I didn't feel the need to jump much. I wasn't sure I was in control, moving the mouse left and right, after sliding down at higher speeds.  Random level design generation could be more forgiving, as there were points where I couldn't go through any further.
