VIS by Hackingroelz
My first strategy game. Didn't have much time this time around (only really had time the second day), but it still turned out decently I think.
WASD to pan around and left-click to build a tile. More help is available in the bottom-left window in the game.
Note: the ingame windows can be dragged around

A clever take on the looming global energy crisis and climate change, I think.
I would appreciate to have a reset game button for the "game over" and "You win!" screen.
BTW nice music :)
It's a pretty fun concept, but really does require some clearer instructions and visual feedback. I applaud you for trying a strategy game on Ludum Dare, since those can be quite arduous to get right especially in such a small timespan!
Relaxing music, I liked that.
And I didn't mind that the graphics were simple, they were effective, which is more important in my book.
Maybe it's because I'm not so good at these sort of games, but I found it a bit tough. Still don't know how to generate more money.
Oh, the explaination for "general" was cut of at the end by the way.
Conclusion, good and complete game especially considering the time.
I feel like everything is a little bit chaotic though. If you had color coded the text (i.e. red if you're losing energy / money, orange if <10, and green otherwise) it would have been a bit more clear what was going on. You could also have written it like "Money: [CurrentMoney] (+DeltaMoney)" and saved some lines. In terms of gameplay, there is not really any difference between water and grass as far as I can understand. How about making building cost more expensive on water? That would sometimes force the player to place villages close to mines or solar plants.
Oh and there's also no way to restart after you lose or win. You have to alt+f4 and start up again. When you have what seems to be a procedurally generated map, you want people to play it more than once!
Regarding the randomly changing delta money: this is because there are some random factors affecting the delta money, which is being represented this way because I didn't have enough time to implement a better visualization.
@gistnoesis: Unfortunately, in the current version there isn't really a self-sustaining solution, as the game was too easy when this was possible, so I had to make some changes to make it a bit harder.
@luckyfeathers: There are differences between grass and water. For example, if a Vis Mine is not next to a water tile, it may randomly explode (even if there is still Vis in the world).
Thanks for the feedback, everyone!
