Enchain is a retro-themed first-person shooter that offers open environments and fast action.

You've been called upon to rise from the depths and dominate the underworld; however, as you kill the fiends in your path, their souls become chained to your burden, slowing you down and restraining your options. Gain and release souls to prevail.

All assets created in the 72 hour time frame.

Cool engine and fun little game - very reminiscent of shooting games from decades past. However, I may have run into a bug - after getting the green skulls and using the green pad to open a green path, (near the blue one that said "two blue skulls are elsewhere") I used the warp point and died while getting the blue skulls. I succeeded on my second attempt, but the green path had disappeared and I seemed to be stuck.

There may have been another path around, but I looked for a little while and didn't find one. Still a cool game, at any rate. Well done.

Thanks @cppchriscpp ! You're right about that bug, I found it this morning but didn't have time to fix it up until now.

Very well done game, love the retro 3D shooter vibe in this one, visually it works perfectly. Controls are really smooth, although I found jumps to be a bit too punishing (found myself falling every now and then). Other than that, it's a really really good entry. Congratulations on making this!

The game feels really solid. Shooting with the shotgun feels satisfying and the graphics are pretty to look at. I don't think the theme works too well though. Still a very good game, good job d:

Man I love this aesthetic! And the controls and grappling were great! Is there anyway to respawn when you fall off the map? I kept having to refresh the page... Anyway awesome game!

Solid and fun gameplay, nice retro graphics, pretty inherent to the theme as well.

I wish the chain would go back if it doesn't hit anything at the maximum possible length and that jumps were more dynamic(either double jump or hold to jump higher), I fell a lot :p

Either way I liked it, great job!

Good connection to theme. 3d action with puzzle elements well combined. I did not immediately understand how to restart with a checkpoint, overall I liked the game.

Looks and feels dope! Awesome graphics that don't feel like Unity at all. Solid entry.

Nice shooter & atmosphere, very doomy!
I kinda fail here and there on the platforming parts, but that is on me. ;) Could have made that part more forgiving by adding doublejumps / climbing.

I adore the art style and gun feels pretty fun to shoot , the only real critique that comes to mind is that I’m personally not a fan of the music used, Needs more metal :P
Fantastic job!

This was a lot of fun! Great job!

I am still a little confused about the captured skulls though.

The continue from checkpoint is not intuitive, you have to pause the game and press r when you died, should have been just click or just press r when dead.
Also the font is very hard to read.
The graphics are very good.
Also the grapping hook mechanic was good.

Really really great gameplay mechanics! I'm impressed you pulled this off in such little time. I love the art and low poly in general. I had trouble reading the instructions though, maybe make the font a little easy on the eye? Agree with some comment above that it needs more metal! really great job on this, you should continue improving it after the jam.

Really awesome game! The way you've implemented the theme is pretty cool and I love the visual style.
I'd love to see that concept and mechanic turned into a full game :)
Great work!

I enjoyed the dark, gritty style and mood to the game. The concept of shooting heads is also a plus. The flaky inputs (in menu) were really fucking aggravating though. Also, the game became rather dull quite quickly. Would need a little variety or interest to keep me going interested. It's one of the cooler games I've played, but it came with some poor flavors.
