Legendary Space Space Space by Rahtainka
Tl:dr Something with spaceships and much fun! So WOW! Amazing :3 :space_invader: :rocket:

Hey guys,
We are a german team of 4 members. We made a little space shooter. You have to destroy the bases and get power ups for your ship for each in order to destroy the base of the evil man who would like to destroy the sun and get all it's energy. Your ship has an limited amount of energy and you loose if you running out of power.

Controls
- MOVE AROUND: WASD
- STEER: mouse
- SHOOT LASER: mouse left (hold to keep shooting)
- SHOOT ROCKET: mouse right (power up)
Your health is your max power. Fog will slow the charging.
Notes about the Web Version
- After the intro on the "These sheep do not know [...]" screen, it might take a while to start the actual game as it loads the scene
- Depending on your browser and system, the WebGL version may not run smoothly. We provide native versions for Windows, MacOS and Linux which will perform better. If you need a version for another platform, feel free to ask!
- Generally: When the Web version seems buggy you might want to try a native version

UI could have been a little bit more finished, I felt it was hard to tell if I was taking damage at all at some points.
Good job!
**Positive things**
- The controls were sharp and responsive and i like that you guys went for the modern WASD take on"asteroids" type controls
- The graphics were really good, i dig the pixel art, and the little intro was really a plus
- The music was cool and fitted the game well
**Negative things :**
- My only gripe is that i experienced some serious slowdowns in some areas (WebGL version) whenever there was smoke or a large number of sprites on screens
Other than that, that's quite a solid entry and it was fun to try out ^^
But I'll give you this, the intro seemed quite funny to me, because of the art and how you made the "stupid mass" the evil enemy, thumbs up for that!
I had just 2 thinks I didn't like that much
- Controls - for me it was very difficult to flip the controls by the rotation of the ship
- Sound Effects - It would be nice to a have a crash sound upon my projectile impact. It kinda stole my feeling from shooting as I heard the launch of the projectile but I missed so much the sound of the projectile hitting something.
I had some feedback issues though: 1) sometimes I was getting hit by projectiles but i'm not sure if they were being registered 2) My craft would shoot random green projectiles, when I was not pressing the mouse button. I was using the web version of the game. Besides that, a pretty solid game; good job guys!
I liked visual art style, especially big spaceships. Sound is good as well.
Nice entry :)
Got a lil bug where it was going the wrong direction when I pressing "W" (it was going backwards) and on the WebGL version it is buggy to hold the mouse button to keep firing.
Great and solid game man.
The intro was pretty funny though, and the graphics were really good! Audio was simple but got the job done, so it was solid. Overall, good work!

Thanks for being part of the stream :)
The first thing that comes to mind is that is really huge, it's incredible what your team made in 72 hours!
The AI of the enemies is really hard enough to make the game fun to play and replay,
at the beginning i expected a game where the main object is going from point a to point b not colliding with any asteroid,
but is really much better that that!
The game is quite polished, but could use some more feedbacks to the user
(make the hits more noticeable, from or to the player).
The graphics are really good and perfect for the genre!
The controls were quite difficult to adapt to for me.
For example, I expected that with A my ship sould always go to the left (but probably is a personal preference).
The game could be "broken" by always shooting the bases from the distance and using the enemy projectiles to help the aiming.
Overall is a really good game,
for me is way above the average of this LD,
it have some things that could use some work,
but that's totally normal for a jam,
and is actually a lot of fun to play, great Job!
I was really surprised at the movement, that the ship actually moves perpendicular to where you're currently looking at with the A/D Keys. After getting used to it, it was really fun getting to avoid enemies bullets, while strafing and shooting them yourself.
The penalty for getting hit is a great idea too, reminds me alot of Continuum. It really forces the player to play well.
The art is great, lovely animations too.
The sound effects do a great job at telling you what's happening.
The soundtrack is good, however it distorts heavily at times.. please fix this
My only other issue is that some attack patterns are really tight to pass through, since there are often multiple attacks going on at once i would increase the gap of those balls some more.
The difficulty level is nicely balanced, rewarding good gameplay. So the upgrades feel very deserved and you're really glad to be getting upgrades.
Overall this has been the best LD game i've played so far. Those controls...great stuff!! It feels tight and responsive.
EDIT: The browser version had a huge framedrop so i immediately grabbed the standalone. Didn't happen afterwards.
Oh how could i forget about the Nebula, it's also rewarding the player to get himself into dangerous situations because his power doesn't recharge as fast.
Asteroids hitboxes are too large!
You guys have a good sense of game design and i wish you all the best on your future projects.
My main complete was the controls, because they were relative to the ship and not the screen (they were responsive otherwise). Also, SOme feedback when you don't have enough power to shoot would be welcome.
Other than that, it was great. The sounds were good, the graphics and the effects also…
But all in all, with some polishing this could become a very fun game!
Art and music are amazing, and gameplay is hard but efficient! I like the idea that your life/power is also your fight limit, but I can't say more because I'm afraid to be so bad at these kind of game that I didn't manage to destroy more than the first station before being crashed by turrets. Very good job!
The world looks massive, enemy bases are diverse and mining ships make it livelier!
Great work on this one!
I couldn't tell why my power drops to zero and wasn't recovering, but I don't lose a game. My guess is that when you get hit, it decreases you max energy limit.
I really liked the graphics and the game play was fun. Solid entry! My only advice is that on the web avoid using mouse clicks for action while using mouse for movement. It seems that the game wouldn't always trap the mouse input and the webpage would try to handle it. This cause my controls to get "stuck" sometimes. I was able to play the game I just had to be careful not to click and drag at the same time.
if you haven't already please give my game a try [Zombie Power Station](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/zombie-power-station) HTML5 Thanks
