Maybe the point track could have had a snaking pattern or move around randomly to add a little more game feel. But very interesting game!","likes":1,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"toboggan","author_uid":"1057118","time":"2018-04-24T04:20:32Z","epoch":1524543632,"modified":1524543632,"text":"@pinkemma thanks and yes, agreed! i plan to introduce more dynamic variation in the gameplay in a post-jam update. :)","likes":0,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"Le Slo","author_uid":"1011802","time":"2018-04-24T09:53:45Z","epoch":1524563625,"modified":1524563625,"text":"Super cool experiment! It's leaves you with beautiful landscapes. In terms of gameplay, it lacks some difficulty progression but I did enjoy the feels of dodging columns at high speed. A lot of songs seem to end up with really wide empty spaces or areas with no blue pick-up things, but for some of them it works well. I liked the brightly-colored minimalist vibe. Nice work.","likes":1,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"C1FR1","author_uid":"1053863","time":"2018-04-26T02:10:27Z","epoch":1524708627,"modified":1524708627,"text":"I really like the idea, but I didn't see a clear correlation between the music and the obstacles. I also think there should be a little more incentive to stay on the path of the music, since in some songs the point squares are not very plentiful. Good job!","likes":2,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"Steve Sparkes","author_uid":"1009961","time":"2018-04-26T02:14:18Z","epoch":1524708858,"modified":1524708858,"text":"I had the most fun listening to midi files of music tracks I had made in the past! This game has a lot of potential, I'd love to see it developed further. When you boost to get the score multiplier, I'm unsure about how this effects the music\/landscape generation. It just seems to speed up the player! Overall, a nice project. Keep making games!","likes":1,"format":"md"}],"format":"md","images":["ld41\/83736-5cad40d944eabed66830dcaf911d1d77.png"],"links":[{"url":"https:\/\/toboggan.itch.io\/midinight-run","text":"Windows"},{"url":"https:\/\/toboggan.itch.io\/midinight-run","text":"macOS"},{"url":"https:\/\/toboggan.itch.io\/midinight-run","text":"Linux"}],"metadata":{"g_key":"50913","g_author":"1057118","g_event":"LD41","g_eventkey":"72","g_subevent":"COMPO","g_urlkey":"234226","g_title":"MIDINIGHT RUN","g_status":"USEAR3","g_place":"99999","g_commentcount":"6","g_site2_node_id":"83736","g_hide":"N","g_has_icon":"Y","g_rqueue":"0","g_random":"0"},"nds":{"n_key":"83736","n_urlkey":"234226","n_parent":"73256","n_path":"\/events\/ludum-dare\/41\/midinight-run","n_slug":"midinight-run","n_type":"item","n_subtype":"game","n_subsubtype":"compo","n_author":"57118","n_created":"1524252917","n_modified":"1524543784","n_version":"268968","n_status":"COMMIT"},"node":{"id":83736,"parent":73256,"superparent":9,"author":57118,"type":"item","subtype":"game","subsubtype":"compo","published":"2018-04-23T01:28:57Z","created":"2018-04-20T19:35:17Z","modified":"2018-04-24T04:23:04Z","version":268968,"slug":"midinight-run","name":"MIDINIGHT RUN","body":"![ld41-4.gif](\/\/\/raw\/e1f\/d\/z\/10f9c.gif)\n\n\nI got pretty stumped by the theme (\"Combine 2 Incompatible Genres\") and decided I'd try to make an unconventional rhythm game and see where it goes.
