A remix of "Snake", with a focus on shrinking playable area.

This world is impure, and you are the cause. Press WASD/arrow keys to move. When you step on a tile, it will become temporarily poisoned. If a small group of tiles get cut off by poison, they will become incurably infected.

You can't move over red infected tiles. Purple poisoned tiles will kill you.

Collect antidotes to progress. Move with intention. Good luck.

The game was kinda difficult, it really was a hard time beating the second level for me. I still like it. I think you did a great job with it, well done.

Pretty cool mechanic. At some points it felt a little random if I could beat a level, but overall it was a fun little game! Good job!

Nice concept. Looks cool and I found it challenging. Would be even better if the controls would feel a little bit more responsive.

Really nice take on the Snake-Game. Went through the whole thin first try, was quite fun. Towards the end of each level you normally can't die anymore since the red tiles often only form 1 possible circle to go around and collect the pills. Minor details tho :)

A couple of tires on the 4th levels, but I finally purified it, and the game! It is nice to be killed when hitting walls or red areas! This reduces the difficulty, which makes the game really friendly! Well done! :v:

Oh man, what a wonderful design! The game mechanics are SO tense and intuitive and they express the "running out of space" theme _perfectly_. The difficulty ramps up really well, the music sets the anxious tone really effectively. Perhaps the snake is a bit cartoony for the rest of the tone of the game, but other than that I can't fault it. Fantastic work.

@dokalfar It's true! Sometimes it feels like a victory lap, sometimes it feels like a free win. If I were to continue this, I think on some levels I'd introduce a new random spawn object that kills Dimitri when he touches it - that way you can't avoid them in the "1-wall loop" scenarios in the same way that you can't help collect pills in this version. Thanks!

@jka Good feedback - I was intending for the controls to feel like the Pac-Man style where you queue up inputs to execute when you can next move in that direction. This was not mentioned in-game, so maybe it should have been! Thanks.

@mcccclean You're too kind. Art-style and general mood is def something I want to improve at, so considering things like that earlier in the weekend will be a learning objective for next time :) Cheers!

Your game is very nice to play. The general impact is positive.
As a professional game dev I would suggest... just kidding haha
Nonetheless, if you want to work on this project more I suggest making a difficulty incresing algorithm.
Graphics - very nice. Controls are also working very well.
Maybe you could also take a glimpse at my game? I already enlarged it into a wholesome Android game :)

Cool take on snake. Really like the turns around the different pathways.
It was a bit strange that the snake would stop at walls and stop before red but wouldn't stop before hitting purple. Seemed inconsistent.
For this type of game an input buffer of 2 is really helpful to allow the player to make rapid turns without having to try and time it based on the movement speed of the snake. It improves the feeling of being in control of your snake.
Love the art, the smoothness of the animation and the level design
