Our Shared Agony by SUNY GDC

[raw]
made by SUNY GDC for LD 43 (JAM)

Our Shared Agony is the first game jam for us, the SUNY Canton Game Design Club. While the project didn't pan out to be the epic dungeon crawler we aspired to create in such short time. A lot of work, mild frustration (not really mild lul); and a lot of experience.

It's a decently solid base to a future game that could definitely be something awesome in the future. So enjoy what we created and give us feedback (roast us if you like, feedback is feedback)! asa.PNG Title Finished.pngCapture.PNGOutro.PNG

Graphically it looks very promising and I see you have made a lot of work - coding - different weapons, hit detection etc... Sad it is unplayable. Also, sounds are a bit irritating.

There are some nice elements, good music and sprites. Unfortunately there are too many bugs and it is unclear what to do. About 20% of the time the exit to a room does not work (I just walk through it offscreen). Some of the combat works but often it lacks feedback. I have not been able to kill a red transforming person.

Seems like it has promise, but unfortunately the game does not seem to work.
Out of what I know is intended, is that the floor tiles indicating a 'doorway' are just a little bit confusing. I thought they were just odd looking walls.
I am strongly curious about how this game could turn out though. Do you have any plans on continuing work on this game?

Unfortunally it has some bugs.
At the start screen if you select no character and hit play the button gets disabled and you can't start the game.

Also some rooms appears without the enemy and getting to the exit doesn't make you go to the next one
