It was fun to pick out which weapons to upgrade, although I couldn't tell if there was any tactical choices to be made. It didn't seem like any particular weapons were better against specific enemies or enemy loadouts.
I've not played many turned based games but this reminded me a little of South Park Stick of Truth. I think it would be cool to implement a few skill based mechanics, such as releasing a rocket at optimum angle or timing for increases damage or accuracy. At the moment it just feels that you have to rely on luck - but I guess that's due to time constraints as you mentioned in previous comment. :)
Did you use Caustic for the sound effects? I've used it mostly for music in other games, but in this case I like how the shot and explosion effects turned out, way better than some of the samples we tend to generate with simpler tools -I admit I'm a bit guilty of this!.
You're already aware of it so I won't add much, but I'll second the other comments regarding more specific information about each type of robot or what the upgrades would do. It might add more depth to the combat.
Nice idea, with potential! :)
Congratulations!!
The mechanics are pretty simple and I miss information of the upgrades. So it is more trial and error.
I expected the weapon selection to be different, with up and down too, not only right and left.
It is a charming idea of the setting.
I usually like games like this - where you have to choose between a few options each turn and see the "choice sequence consequence". :)
Cardboard style graphics is a cool touch.
Not completely finished, but still, well done!
