Nice job on your first LD!

Cool little fetch-quest game, I got myself king of the tiny world. The no-danger aspect made it relaxing to just kind of walk around and see the content. Lots of little interactions with a sense of progress, some cute art, and a timely end. A few sound effects on the pickups would be a nice addition.

Congrats on completing, I'll give some suggestions:

I played through most of it I think, I picked up the sword but I couldn't give it to the guy to get the money so I was stuck on 60 coins. (you should show the coins somewhere other than the title bar, also your inventory)

Make moving fun, add some smoothness to the movement, acceleration and deceleration, walk animation. Little things like that can make it feel much more fun even if there's no changes to gameplay.
Add SFX! Very important, when I pick up a coin I want a little coin sound, and when I interact with something it should tell me what it is even if I can't use it yet. eg. I wasn't sure what a lot of the things on the map were at the start so I pressed space and nothing happened so I thought they were just background details.

I have to admit when I first started the game, I was not expecting much. The movement isn't very interesting, and the graphics are pretty rudimentary. But after I started playing I found the gameplay to be pretty compelling. It's just simple go finding things, but still I wanted to finish. So that's something.
My biggest problem is hitting escape immediately closes the game, this caused me to have to start over after buying the first two items. I hit escape to try and leave the shop by mistake and was immediately dumped to the desktop.

Had the same problem as @impbox. I got stuck and couldn't return the sword. And of course sound would have been super cool. I also would have prefered some sort of relaxing background music. Appart from that, your game is quite solid. I like the cute sprites and the easy to understand gameplay. Anyway, there are some minor tweaks, I would suggest. Maybe you want to consider, to flip the raft around, when you move left as your player character allready does. It looks a bit strange, when your raft rides backwards. Also it would be cool, if you could examine the buyable items and get the description before actually buying them.

All in all your game is quite nice and I enjoyed playing it. Good work and thanks for the contribution!
