Verti / Cease by Arity

[raw]
made by Arity for LD 43 (JAM)

A game where you must sacrifice vertices on polygons to get them through a wall.

Work will continue on this game until I feel like it's "done", haha. Here's an itch page where you can get updated versions:

Not a bad game. I like how it got more challenging as you go. The music was also fantastic.

A bit more polish and an end screen would have done wonders however.

Overall, nice job

TY @darylsteak ! Wish we had more free time to work on it over the weekend! Definitely continuing to flesh it out. When "finished" I will do a blog post and link to published product.

Cool use of theme, the pulsing white shape which I'm guessing is the wall after a few rounds became really offensive to my eyes and I couldn't continue playing.

@catbutt, sorry about the visual issue! Thanks for the feedback. Someone else mentioned that, ha! Working to alleviate.

Cool graphics and sound, I loved in particular the "psychedelic" mood.
I don't know if it's only me but not always I get the yellow circle around the shape. Sometimes it just doesn't appear and I lose my streak.
Btw good entry! :)

Great music! The graphics could probably have used a bit more finish, maybe by showing the edges on the shapes. The concept was very original and nicely fit the theme.

Really unique use of the theme! Initially I though it would be super easy, I mean we're just manipulating 2D shapes! I soon realised how wrong I was, and ended up having a really great, challenging time. Just some minor things that upped the frustration that if polished out could make for a great release.

- I swear these was a wall that was fully white.
- At some points it didn't seem fair that the shape had to match the hole, rather than just fit through it, but I can see why this would be necessary for balance
- The inability to re-add vertices after removing them felt unnecessarily punishing
- My eyes physically hurt from the pulsating background

Nice tunes, pretty interesting game concept. Sometimes when I would click nothing would happen and sometimes the shape I need to 'cut' to is bigger than the shape I am given. I would say adding an outline of what you're cutting would be good, but that might make it too easy. Either way its not bad for a game made in less than 3 days
