Crispy's Planetary Survival by Batsphemy
Hello,
This time we're working together as a team of 3, all just finished our first year of Gametechnology in University.
Our game is about the earth (or one of the other 2 playable 'characters') which is being sucked up by a black hole. You have to evade Spacerocks and even other planets to get to jumpboosts which let you get further away from the blackhole.
There are 2 powerups in the game: the jumpboost (which lets you jump away from the blackhole, destroying every rock and planet you touch in your path) and the shield (which shields you for 3 seconds from any rocks and planets).
It's an endless game, with slightly increasing difficulty overtime, and different difficulties per character. The goal is to get a score as high as possible. You get points for every second survived, and for every rock/planet destroyed with your shield/jump. If you destroy multiple rocks/planets in a single jump, you get a score multiplier for that jump. Jumps can be chained (with a bit of skill and a lot of luck!).
Hope you enjoy ^.^

- Simple to pick up & play
- Has a main menu, character variety, high scores, help screen
**Cons**
- No point in playing the larger character other than for increased difficulty
- Possible to get outside of the screen and lose track of character
Pretty simple game with decent polish and no serious bugs. Good work!
Had a bug with one of the 'characters' what looked like eating a bunch of asteroids then disappearing, my score sky rocketed but i had nothing to do.
I like the simple art style of the asteroids, but i think the background could be a bit more interesting.
Nicely done!
Pretty fun on first attempt
Tryed the game 3 times, highest score 106.57
As another commenter mentioned, it's possible to leave the screen completely which makes the game rather hard to play. (Though I did manage to rack up a score of ~72 by just hitting the first two collectibles I saw, then just holding left indefinitely!) I'm not really sure what you could do to help that; one way might be to restrict spawning of powerups when you're past a certain distance from the edge. (Easier said than done, I'm sure)
The only other thing I'd mention is, it took me a very long time to figure out how to get the shield (pill item) - I assumed from the help screen that the pill would move me further out like the balls did, and just never picked one up. I almost missed the detail in the description about it.
Thanks for a fun entry!
