[raw]
made by Daniel Alhadeff for LD 42 (COMPO)

Note: This game is best played with a mouse

You are the last survivor of a dying universe. With the Big Crunch imminent and Cosmic Horizon incoming you are literally running out of space.

Collapse nearby stars into black holes by knocking nearby asteroids into them. Then, attempt to escape to a new universe through each black hole.

Well, that was fun. Really enjoyed it and that art and audio style is right up my alley. I will point out something that could be fixed if you take this further when the ship has momentum and you change facing direction things go a bit wonky at times. Other than that it was tricky but a great game. Thank you for producing this.

Great art style and music, maybe you could add more objects floating around that you have to avoid. nice work tho

This looks so good, especially the star field that keeps you in. And those synths are fantastic. :) It was a fun game to get to grips with.

For a Game done in less than 24 hours even. It is pretty damn good :3

Cool game! Unfortunately I'm terrible at physics, or something, because i'm mostly good at shooting the asteroids in ever-faster circles around the level.

Really only tiny stuff that I'd change--primarily the audio level for the shooting sound, but this is a really well-polished game for 24 hours! Awesome work.

p.s., if you're able to write video games, is it really camping? :P

Great game, especially for 24 hours. The music was really catchy, and I liked how tight the controls were (I usually find these physics based space games to be a bit too floaty). My only feedback would be that the firing rate is somewhat inconsistent. Well done!

Great game! The music is really good and the game is easy to get to grips with and compulsive. I had trouble with the asteroids kind of hugging the walls and it was difficult to get them away again, so maybe the physics need a tweak? Also, I didn't really notice the walls closing in, but the visual effect is cool.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. The concept was great and I had a lot of fun playing it. It reminded me of asteroids tbh and I loved that game when I was kid.

If there was one thing I would do that could make this A LITTLE bit better (because it's already good) is to add keyboard controls to rotate the player, just like in asteroid

Fun game! The music is really good. The slippery flying mechanics make this pretty difficult, however that said I really enjoy the flow of trying to shoot+nudge the asteroids with the ship (I'm glad touching the asteroids doesn't kill you, that was a smart decision). Cohesive entry overall. Nice work!

I couldn't seem to finish the second level. The asteroids kept immediately zooming into the wall of doom and I couldn't dislodge them, so I couldn't get behind them to shoot them into the sun. Even still, it's a good game that I can tell would be better with an actual mouse rather than a touch pad.

Incredible graphics, especially the particle effects. I love the way you applied the theme in two ways, that space itself was running out of space. My one critique would be that the game is very difficult, I couldn't make it past level 2.

Liked the ship movement. Despite being in space it is quite responsive. That felt great. I really enjoyed that the player's shots were in tune with the music.

I found 2 bugs:
1. The music does not loop properly.
2. Point blank shots produce the particle effects but do not inflict any force on the asteroids.

Awsome tutorial idea, at least the ship control tutorial. Our tutorials tend to be a last minute thing although they are really important for a good experience. Nice mood and graphics, well done!

Challenging game! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/argzN59wywI

Sound effects and music are quite good and do not make you want to stop it so fast, well done! Cool project
