Moon Landing by Nick Salesky

A simple slight bullet-hell type game set in a different version of the Space Race. I'll admit that the game does not really tie in to the theme in its gameplay, but the aspect of the Space Race ties in well. The Soviets are shooting missiles down from space, showing how weak the U.S.A, is, and prompting it to regain its technological power. This was my first project made using the Godot game engine, so I had to learn that as I went, meaning my project probably isn't as efficient as it could be. Also, I rushed and made the cutscenes in the last bit of time I had, so they're not as good as I wish they were. I wish I could have added music, but I really suck at that and had no one to help me out with it. Also, for some reason, the sound doesn't work in the HTML5 version. I think it has more to do with the web exporter of the Godot engine than my code.

The web version just says "Failure during start-up, see JavaScript console".

The Windows version is 64 bit but I have a 32 bit machine, please add another build for that.

Thanks for the game submission. A fun little game. The big yellow dots (stars I assume?) are a bit misleading. It took me a while to realize they weren't obstacles. Maybe if they were just a bit smaller it would be more obvious? I appreciate that it plays in a browser rather than having to download and run an executable, so points for that. All in all, a good entry, especially for being a first time with the new dev tool. I looked at Godot myself, but stuck with something I was a little more comfortable with. Have a great day!

Didn't run on Safari, Chrome was fine (no audio, might be as intended - no score given). Fun take on the obstacle dodger genre. I would have loved some different background star sprites, because first I thought obstacles, then I thought pickups, but nothing happened.
The gameplay is fun, with the breaking speeding mechanic to help dodge the spudnik rockets. Also props for using a new tool, it's always great to learn something new!
