The game has a good level of visual polish, and the dialogue is a nice touch. However, the gameplay itself is kinda dull, it could have benefited from utilizing more enemy variety instead of an upgrade system and dialogue. The difficulty could be toned down a bit as well, it seems like you can get pretty easily overwhelmed even if you fire reasonably accurately and buy upgrades whenever you can. Gamepad support is a plus, it certainly makes the game smoother. While it was cool that you integrated money and upgrades, the UI was a bit too much information to process using text alone. Some better organization/more visual elements (like graphics, meters), could have helped a lot. I'm being super nitpicky for a ludum dare game, but it's because the foundation for a good game is here, and I think with a bit of extra polish you could have something cool!

I found that saving the upgrades until I got overwhelmed helped me a lot, but the final boss was a bit of a let down. It felt like there was actual thought put into it a lot of things - like another review here says, a nice level of visual polish - but other things were slightly rushed, which is to be expected in the given time frame. Overall a really good starting point if you do want to keep building on it.

Awesome music. Some of the audio levels felt a little unbalanced though, like some of the sound effects were a bit abrasive at their audio level.

Graphics were nice :) and I felt like the overall look was good and consistent

Overall, very well done. As mentioned in some other comments, there are some spots where I would have chosen to put more polish over some of the spots where you did so, but a lot of that is personal preference and not that you made a bad choice (it's a game jam, some things will always be sacrificed). I do wish the UI was a little less wordy. It was a bit distracting. But even so, controls were smooth, systems worked well, it was tough but not unbeatable. Really enjoyed myself on this one.

You have a very good game. I think that the boxes that are on the background are distracting with their animation. The game is complicated, but interactive. thanks, good work

Thank you so much for the feedback everyone. I hadn't noticed Alot of the issues but I guess that's just what happens in the time. The main issues im seeing are the UI and sound issues which I am very grateful for as I can look out for this in the upcoming ludum dares I will defiantly participating in. Really grateful for all the feedback and reviews on my first ever game jam. Ludum dares community is truly amazing. Thank you.

Really enjoyed the game. The controls we're very smooth and easy to use. Very impressive for a first attempt of ludum dare

The work you put into the graphics gave it a good "90s videogame space ship" look. The main improvement I suggest is making the goals of the game clearer - I kept on losing the game but couldn't identify why (my eyes where focussed on shooting the green blobs in front of me).

You bought me with this dialogue. I dont know why but it has good vibe. Although i found severl issues.

Mainly controlls can be found only in main menu. At the beggining i had no idea how to shoot. I had to restart the game to checki it.

Another thing (but maybe it was due i could die in the last second?) i got "you loose" screen after those 2 min elapsed. So i guess its impossible to win?

Anyway. Fun gameplay. Good job

I think the game is a but hard but its good overall. some gun sounds and a variety of equipment wouldn't hurt it!

This was so cool!
Half a Gb of download took its time, so maybe you can fix the size next time.
The game is so worth it tho

The graphics are quite well polished, but I struggled to play it with a keyboard, a shooting based on mouse pointer would have been a good improvement. I see it is your first LD too, well done!

I liked the dialogs, it had really good looking grapich, especially at the fighting scene. At my first game I forgot to uprgade my weapon, and though it's a hard game, but when I realized I should do that, it become a lot easier. I was disappointed when I had to go back to my little pistol. I thought the second upgrade will give my an even bigger gun. Never mind, it was a good game!

Good job! I liked the idea of having the platforms contract to the center. At first, I didn't know there were upgrades since my attention was centered. I think having a bigger space is better for a twin stick shooter.

This was a fun little twin-stick shooter. I liked that the enemies were more of a hindrance of space then an immediate threat, and the floor was the "real enemy." Kinda adds an interesting element to the whole thing. Some of the noises (particularly the dialogue noise) were way louder than the rest so I ended up turning the sound down low pretty quickly, but I appreciate having sound+music for sure!

Upgrades worked nicely, and I liked the pacing of deciding when to unload and when to try to conserve ammo. I definitely enjoyed myself!

Just rated your game live on twitch thanks for submitting loved to play it so far - needs some more polish especially the shooting is all the same over time and might get a bit boring

Reminded me of SmashTv but without any blood :)
I liked the game. The fact that the enemies doesn't kill you directly but swarm you until you are stuck on a fry-pan is a really good idea !!!
On my first win, I didn't even noticed there was a power up button. I let you imagine the crowd i had to go through to cross a single tile ^^'
And the dialog is a nice final touch on the game.
Really good job !

I'm a big fan of twin stick shooters, so I really enjoyed playing this game! I do wish that you were able to keep your weapon upgrades though. I didn't like how I lost the upgrade after it ran out of ammo. Overall, very nice entry and congratulations on making a complete game!!
