Three of you. by BitOfGold
A non-violent game.
The village has sent the three of you to find the lost power crystals.
- Find all the crystals on the island!
- Collect mushrooms, acorns and fruits to eat!
:poop: If START button does not work (It happens usually the first time), please refresh page!
This game was created with BABYLON.js + my game library. First time I use this combination so it is kind of a test. Things are not very optimized yet, and it's in WebGL, so this only works really on a 0-3 year old gamer desktop with a decent graphics card.
(No time left for audio, sorry about that :( )
Some errors were patched after submit. (Show stopping black screen on some devices, and auto-optimalization was left off so it was too slow on slow deskstops, and point lights and character movement were not working at all.)

Blender seems very hard at first (with all the key combinations, you just cannot use it without learning the top few dozen keys), but after a few tutorials it gets easier and faster.
Character modelling, sculpting and rigging, inverse kinematics and animation is still hard (for me).
Start with low poly modelling tutorials first:

I tried changing to behind-following third person camera, but it always shows the back of the characters... But maybe it plays better that way.
Gameplay is a bit simple, in my opinion. I didn't feel like I had a lot of control over the game - a good random walk algorithm probably would have outperformed me in this game, so the skill cap is fairly low. Perhaps adding a controllable camera to see/plan where to go would help. I also think if I had to manage 3 hunger bars by feeding them the appropriate food, it would add a layer of strategy, providing I could see the food ahead of time and plan my route. That said, I beat the game and had a reasonably fun time doing, so thanks for that!
You mentioned using you own library, so kudos to you, that's a lot of work! The lighting was prettygood, but a bit buggy. At the game start the lighting was all over the place. I don't know whether it was the day/night lighting getting hung, or loading quirks, or the nearby presence of multiple crystals, but it was a bit wonky.
I'll leave you with two screenshots I nabbed. The first shows certain messianic tendencies from the three amigos. The second is a place on the map I got caught on and couldn't break free (had to restart). If I had to guess I'd say the tree collision is a bit off.

I coudn't try your game as it was stuck loading. There was an javascript issue on the page.
You can see more of the bug on my vod here: https://youtu.be/lXUmif8KKxM?t=30m3s
The look is excellent! I really like the bouncy movement of the characters, such wiggle, and the follow mechanics for the fox and rabbit. It felt like I was moving slower than I wanted to, I was almost pushing the keys harder to make them run instead of lollygag.
I wasn't sure why I needed all three characters. Did the different types of food help the hunger of each? I could only see one hunger score on the screen.
I walked on the water for a while, because it looked so cool with the reflections.
I have to admit, I thought that the animals were going to "disappear" in traditional food chain order when my hunger hit 100.
Unfortunately never managed to finish, because I kept losing to hunger before even finding half the crystals each time. :'c
A lot of my games get the complaint that the characters move too slowly, but this felt slow even to me, heh. Made it difficult to find new crystals, and food, on time. Many ways to modulate this, like having food satiate more hunger than now, or to make the world even smaller, but I think speeding up the characters is the best solution to everything.
It's definitely impressive that this isn't only your own engine, but a JS one. Was a bit heavy on my computer, but not unplayable. Hope you keep working on it and improve even more on it! Nice job! c:
Gameplay is bit lacking, to be honest not very fun. I managed collect all the needed crystals but it didn’t feel an achievement, I just thoroughly scouted the whole island. Game name implies that there is some sort meaning to there being three characters but other two didn’t do much but annoy me. Maybe if they would collect nearby resources, that could make them more meaningful.
I think there is potential here. Game just need some more mechanics or design rethink. I love the characters, they are really cute:) And character style is awesome!
Also the effect while collecting crystals looks more like taking damage. That confused me a bit. But in the end nice entry!
I like the style of it and the Graphics are nice. It was a bit laggy but overall nice game!
You can be proud.
Also please check out my game. I need a few more ratings.
Sorry for advertising in your comments but hope you understand!
Yay saved the village, I can rest well tonight! :D
