hah! I kept forgetting that I'm not supposed to shoot aimlessly... -_-

Cool game! I had a lot of fun with this one. The ending actually had me crack up! A couple implementation notes:
* First off, the enemy spellcasting sound effect sounds good when it's just one enemy playing it, but when every enemy in the level plays it at the same time it becomes super shrill. I'd recommend offsetting when enemies cast their spells, having enemies get quieter the farther away the camera is from them, or both.
* Second, the camera lerping to the character's position gives the game a very polished feel (congrats on that -- this game FEELS complete in a way many LDJAM games do not) but it comes at the expense of being able to see where you're going. In order to have the best of both worlds, I'd recommend having the camera lerp to the player's position, PLUS the direction of their velocity. That way you'll be able to see where you're going better!
Again, I really did like this one! The level design was interesting, the art was very well-done, and I had a good time playing throughout! Thank you for participating in LDJAM :)

Nice, I enjoyed kicking those zombizards' butts.

I wasn't sure if it was a bug or a feature but, I did notice that the player would take damage every time you fired. ~~It looks like a bug but actually could completely be a feature because~~ it adds more depth to the gameplay by encouraging the player to make better shots to conserve health.

Edit: My bad, I seem to not be able to read apparently!

@heather-flowers Thanks for playing and the tips. @evan-overly it's not a bug you have to sacrifice some of your health to use your spell.

I felt like it really captured the feeling of being a dopey wizard. The camera may be a little too lazy and too zoomed in.

@joshua-young Thanks for playing! The camera, collision system and some of the levels needed polished but had to sacrifice those to get it done on time.

I like the ending.
Would be nice if you could tell the enemy distance and shooting direction in advance, but was never a problem in this game.

The game froze for me at the clouds and now i have the song playing perpetually even with the tab closed :O

Apart from that, i enjoyed the clean artwork.

Cute little game. Love the horrifyingly grim touch of "DON'T HAVE THE KEY, JUMP IN THE LAVA" near the end. Made me chuckle. Could use some camera tightening, but you've addressed that above. Good job finishing the Jam!

That post-boss sequence made me laugh-- I wasn't expecting a voice to start speaking to me like that! It did lessen the mood just a little at the end, but it was hilarious (in my opinion, at least) and very unexpected, so that totally made up for it! The camera lerp could probably be adjusted a bit, perhaps so the camera stays one step ahead of the player, rather than behind; it could also use an increase in speed. Aside from that, this was wasn't too bad! It definitely has my favorite ending out of all the games I've played this Ludum Dare, so good job on that!
