Flong! by Mil

Theme: Combine 2 Incompatible Genres. We combined the classic Pong with a tapping control-sheme like Flappy Bird.
Controls: W for Player 1, Arrow Up for Player 2.
We were here for the fun and to learn a lot. And we did. It was our first Ludum Dare.

You could make some different level with a variation of the concept: taking a game mechanics of another game and translate it to a control for pong (for example: a variation around Space Invaders could ask the player to shoot the racket, etc.). There is definitely room for an interesting exercise here :).
It's simple but an interesting take on classic Pong. Quite entertaining.
