Small World Clicker by xatulu

[raw]
made by xatulu for LD 38 (COMPO)

Scrapped my first attempt after around 24 hours. Kinda screwed up on the second day. Not really my Ludum Dare.

Next one is going to be better i hope.

I was kind of expecting "everything is fine" to start going downhill and getting progressively worse, but I did not expect the punchline; it was a fun little experience.

Who am I? Why am I cloning myself? Why am I running a sacrificial cult to make more clones faster? These are questions best left to philosophers, which I am not, and neither are my clones, none of whom lived more than 5 minutes. Maybe if I clone faster I'll find answers and... Yep, just as had been theorized, I am in fact a genocidal maniac :P

Oh, the humanity!

Haven't played a lot of clickers but leveraging one to tell a story / tell a message seems like a really cool idea.

I'm evil and I like it! Nice take on a clicking mechanic, it's great! I only think it could make use of some more resource management

Reminds me a lot of ADR. I had a similar experience this LDJAM dumping my original idea about 2 hours to deadline and morphing it into a "clicker" style game, so I feel you! Regardless, you did a great job with this :)

I almost thought this was a joke entry until I kept clicking. Really interesting idea.

I like how the concepts are introduced one by one as they become available. It makes the learning very easy. One thing that confused me though is the waiting times for some of the actions. I didn't get the value behind it. It even made me think that this is a button mashing game, so I kept clicking randomly, but realized that there's bad consequences to that. Really looking forward to how something like this would look if developed more!

I like the premise, and the ending was pretty funny, but was there any point to building things? It didn't seem to do anything if I just let all my people (all my selves?) starve to death out on the cold streets of my self-cloning kingdom. I enjoy clicker games like this though, so good on ya.

Nice clicker game! I think you could explode more the last sentence of everything is fine, actually is so simple. Maybe with any kind of "enemy" or threat would be very innovative. Anyway, good job and good luck for the results :)

Hahaha love the end^^ it builds up nicely, well done! Though I didn't understand the use for factories and churches O___O maybe I would have known if I had done more...
It was a nice experience in any case :)
