Beyond Space by Allan Kong
Hi, I am a 13 year old teen who is passionate on creating! indie games. I been eager to join Ludum dare for a long time. I am grateful to give you a project I devoted at least 24 hours into.

Story:
The Earth demands more space for us humans. Luckily, the government has found more space in Space. You have been sent on behalf of the government to exterminate all life forms necessary so that it is available to us. Be careful though, The life forms have sent a defence protocol, meaning that you can't stay for too long.
How to Play:
- Use the Mouse to move and shoot
- Kill enemies to progress
- if you are low on fuel or health, return to shop, which is located at where you spawn.
- Use the mini maps on the bottom right to locate your destination
- Explore new enemies and items!

One thing I would say, is the combat doesn't feel very rewarding. Shooting your bullets doesn't have much action, or "POW" to it. I even tested it out, and you can almost out-run your own bullets. Maybe I'm accustomed to fast-paced games, but it did feel a little slow to me.
That being said, I really do think that you have good art, and the game overall is great.
I see you used music from freemusicarcive.org... that is against the compo rules.. one of the check boxes your required to click for the compo even has you state that you made all the assets durning the 48 hours.
All assets created solo
Great job overall though
Overall a little music would have made it even more awesomer.
Great job!
Keep up the good work!
Jam theme fitting and enjoyable.
Good work!
The art is fine, the sounds are fitting and good.
Great job on the minimap, different enemies and all the content! Solid entry, and good job! :)
I totally didn't get how this related to the theme until I realized that the white boundary was actually shrinking, and shortly after, I lost.
The fact that the mini map is transparent confused me.
Besides that, I enjoyed it!
The feedback I'm giving is considering that you're going to continue developing this and are suggestions from first time playing it.
Let's get into your game criticism:
• I like the multiple enemies and the way you arranged them, that's great! Good job!
• The moving sound is very repetitve
• You can easily get yourself "lost", the map isn't really reliable cause there is too much thing, just zoomed out, and it is hard to see. Since you've used unity I can give you a suggestion. The camera rendering the map can only capture Enemy/Market/Player using layers, and you can put a background color behind it, it'd make the game easier to track yourself...
• The 3-layer(?) parallax is really well made, so I can have a nice sense of movement in space, which is nice. But aside of that I'd make the player movement faster or scalable.
Since I didn't manage to play for a long time, that's all feedback I can give. Hope that can be useful for you.
In case you continue to develop your game let me know! I'd love to see your progress, my info is on my LD profile.
Do you mind to give feedback to our game as well? (It’s a platformer, I don’t know if you like the genre but it is important for me to have feedback from player who like and dislike it). The link to it is on my profile, I won't post to avoid spam.

-> Work on adding a "skill driven mechanic"
-> I just think the game lacks innovative application and is not really compelling, I think a few small changes could make that better.
-> The theme was not really connected to the game in a meaningful way
-> Solid implementation of a standard space shooter in a short time, is impressive.
You managed to do so many things just in 2 days, i really like your game and i am going to keep it on my pc, i would be interested if it is possible to do a cooperation.
Keep it up!
Here is my twitter, but most likely you will catch me online on steam:

-saw your response, ahh okay.
liked the different type of enemies, though they were all pretty easy to kill- just fly away and shoot and repeat. could be cool to see enemies force you to fly in a certain pattern or so if you continue working on it. Keep up the good work!
