Game created for LudumDarte 43 - Sacrifices must be made.

2D pixelart runner, with roguelike elements.

We handle Will, a young man from a village whose main livelihood is agriculture. They face a crisis, it hasn't rained for months. Will's only way to restore prosperity to his people is to reach the top of the Volcano, sacrificing himself as an offering to the gods in order to return the rains to their arid lands.

Great game! Liked the art style, but I think the player moves too fast!

Nice game!
I loved the art style and the sound came together really well.

I also struggled and didn't get to the end.
Gravity flips could happen faster to give more reaction time.

thanks for the feedback! Yes, it's a bit difficult, but in the end it's worth it

Wow audio is very loud for me? Besides that interesting design and nice pixel art. Sacrificing time makes things so fast lol. Keep up the great work.

Lots of fun! Really love this type of fast past side-scrolling game. Reminds me a lot of a game I used to play for hours back in the day and I like the story poor Will haha.

Fan-ta-stic! The pixel-art looks great - I understand you spent a lot of time on it. The music is also great, the melody is stuck in my head... du, dudududu du... du, dudududu du... I enjoyed this, hope to see you next time. Good luck and have a nice day //@dudum-lare from @liquidbrain

The audio sounds too distorted, could have really used an Audio slider at the start of the game.

Aside from that gameplay is hard but fun. could have maybe used a checkpoint system. But i still like it ^^

It's fun and hard, graphics look nice too. I would suggest making a checkpoint at totems. Losing all my progress felt devastating. Good job!

The pixel art style is very nice! The game felt fairly tough at first but once I got the hang of it was good fun all the way through. I'm glad that even by the end the game doesn't handicap the player overly harshly. Great work!

At first the music was like meeh - then I get used to it and liked it a lot! Good work overall.

I would have liked to sacrify the time more often haha^^

Nice entry! I wish I could have changed gravity in mid-air sometimes, it felt like I had to hit the otherside before using the power again. I really liked how the level changed up each time, but felt like they were familiar by using the same building blocks in a different order, kept me on my toes the whole time!

Thanks @hechi, HTML version works fine :)

Simple but well polished game. I didn't finish it but was funny to play. The art is very cool and I liked the scrolling too. Good work!

Hehe I condemned the whole village. Screw those guys :u
I thought the gravity switching was nicely responsive and thoroughly enjoyed the art and soundtrack. I did run into a bug where I was killed by a boar at one of the totem poles while I couldn't fight back but oh well!
Great game!

Niiiiiice! I loved the graphics, the music and the mood. Very well done :) I thought you will have to run AWAY from the villagers who wants to sacrifice you... :D For some reason this is what popped into my mind: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwfC-KFKGp8

Pretty difficult but fun game! After playing a few times, I ended up deciding to sacrifice time last since that was the thing that made the game the hardest.

Nice game! Just a tip, when I reach the totem and need to choose what to scarifice, make the pigs to stop moving. I just got hit buy one and it pissed me off. Had fun though :)

I really like the game! It would be great to have some kind of save point and not loose the progress. I love the style, very cute! The music was great! As other people said previously, it reminded me of VVVVVV but in faster pace which was also very interesting!

Nice game. I think the game lacks a some polish, like the camera follows the player when he fall into a hole. Also infinite ammo is a bit of a let down since it would be much more interesting if the player had limited ammo or some sort of cooldown (instead of non-stop spamming).

Overall I think you guys did a good job and I really enjoyed the art and the music.

Fun game with nice graphics. The music was very fitting although the flute after some time hurt my ears a bit so I lowered the volume. :) Some kind of save point would've been nice because you need several tries to get through.

Finally a game I'm actually good at, haha. I had a blast playing this game! The art is pretty and the audio works well. How cruel to have to start over when you die once, but it makes sense because otherwise the game would be quite short. I had fun!

Cool concept fitting for the theme and fun gameplay overall! I wasn't able to beat it unfortunately, but it was a bit addictive to keep trying again and again after dying haha. Nicely done :)

Interesting game! I didn't manage to finish it, however; it was really hard. Some things to say: the parallax effect glitches out when you fall. Perhaps you should only lock it to the X position? Another thing - you've got really big pixel art, but it isn't pixel perfect. Since you are using Unity, just get 2D pixel perfect and you'll be good to go. :ok_hand:

Other than that, great game! I had a blast playing it. Can't wait to see what you submit for Ludum Dare 44! See you in a few months!

Holy Polish runner, Batman! Love your procedural levels and the over all aesthetic! Also, the beginning cut-scene was hilarious. I thoroughly enjoyed dying over and over and jumping RIGHT back into it! Great job on this :D
