You are a wizard protecting a secret hidden area deep in the woods, but it has been discovered by the dark forces. They are spawning dark portals to enter the hidden area, you have to escape to survive. You can teleport out in a a couple minutes, but can you survive until then?

Controls: - LMB: Shoot fireball to kill monsters. - RMB: Use beam of light to destroy the portals. - Your character will aim at your mouse pointer.

Casting fireballs drains fire energy, you gain fire energy from using the light beam on the portals. Using the light beam drains light energy, you gain it from picking up the light objects that spawns at the purple flowers.

Interesting idea, sort of like a survival wave themed game. Good implementation

The first comment! Yey! Visuals pretty, sounds are nice and mechanics are interesting. Needs some tuning but hey, this is a game jam game so that's ok. I think the gameplay should be faster though. Otherwise, good job!

Pretty nice visuals, I would say the game is quite painfully slow and heavy, and it's really difficult

That music is real nice! Once I get under 2 mins, the game turns to pretty choppy, even in lower resolutions. I wish I could keep going because closing the wholes while dodging and defending is fun.

Pretty neat game! I enjoyed the mechanics quite a bit. At my first try I got overwhelmed really fast. Second try felt like easy going until the last 30 seconds, where I got overwhelmed again and died in like the last second! The game could maybe use a little more balancing, if you spot and close the portals fast enough it is quite easy, but if one stays open longer it quickly becomes impossible. I guess that means you nailed the theme quite well :) I still would've preferred not having to stand still while closing portals, I think this might've felt quite awesome. Also the movement speed feels painfully slow when there is a lot happening, some run/dash mechanic could've helped there. The visuals are very nice and the music you chose is really fitting. Good job overall!

- The movement needs cleaning up by a LARGE margin. It's too slow in comparison to your enemies. While having faster enemies later is fine in a game like this. With the frequency of their shooting and appearance, they move WAY to fast in conjuction to the player.

- The player's avatar should face where the projectile shoots. It is a HUGE feedback mechnisim to make sure that they see that. Otherwise it is huge disorienting.

- The health bar needed to be like 5x the size or moved to be more easily viewable and some minimal feedback for when I take damage. Right now there is no feedback of which I don't even know when I took damage.

- The balance mechanic between the light beams and the fire balls, you should allow a LOT more shooting of fire balls and if you are worried about balance you could always increase the health of enemies, but the see saw flow you want for using fire balls and light and such is falling flat.

Overall the concept is sound, the game premis is sound, but the executation failed on the main point of the gameplay itself. While you have a fair amount of pieces together, it's not entertaining to experience at all at present. Even just making the movement feel less constrained would improve it by a LARGE margin.

Good job, i had a good time playing it.
Something you should work on:

* The player is a bit slow, it is a bit difficult to avoid enemy attacks
* Maybe some power ups
* Some arrows on the HUD to show the oppened black holes

Other than that, well done!

A bit difficult to avoid enemies, and I found the game very difficult at first.

Love the sound and graphics

The mood and the graphics are good, and the idea is great. The character is a bit too slow for the ennemies and it's difficult to understand what the bars are for at the start. It's too bad but good job anyway !
