Park & Match by Carlos Giraldo
It's time to run out of time and get to parking! The objective is to park cars and wait for them to turn fully yellow before you can ride them out of the parking lot. Parking same color cars near each other makes them turn quicker. After a parking space is used to turn a car yellow, it changes to only allow that color to park in the space. Don't let the queue outside get too long or let the timer run out before driving a yellow car out!
CONTROLS: - WASD - Click car to assume control.
This was all produced by me on the weekend except I used an old song of mine and some free font and SFX

Only problem I had was when the gate closed on a car and it couldn't move and the gate wouldn't open again.

1) Some kind of score to keep track of. I think I've played for almost 7 minutes before I was finally crushed by number of cars. I would have been tempted to play again to beat this score but (as far as I could see) it wasn't actually conveyed anywhere.
2) At least for my personal play through, I felt like getting cars to turn yellow was never a big issue, so there wasn't much incentive to park same colored cars next to each other.
Anyway, great game! :)
There is a round indicator on the top left which starts at R1. for every x number of yellow cars scored, it updates and makes the game harder.
Didn't nail the balance for the matching to matter much. I think i needed to boost the matching multiplier and nerf the standard tick rate plus add a parking quality measure to encourage better parking plus reduce the spawn rate of the cars so that players spend more time thinking than reacting.
I found the driving to be a bit frustrating though. I'd bump up acceleration & deceleration a ton because having to do multi-point turns is kind of agonizing. With driving mistakes feeling very punishing, it feels less about dealing with space issues and more about perfect driving.
Anyways I love what you did, controlling the cars is so smooth and realistic. The gameplay is super fun and I love the graphics, the objectives are super clear. Man, this is really great!
Awesome job (Except for originality lol)
Unfortunately I'm a bad driver, so i ran into the same bug as @joseph-manley, but the exclamation mark above the cars in the row was very entertaining :D
Great job.
I liked the idea of telling the player why he lost and what he should do next time to avoid this type of gameover
However, I was unable to download Windows version. For some reason, the file couldn't be found on the itch.io.

Great job!
Yep, this is fine.
Jokes aside, the game was really well done, you managed to fit the theme in well and originally. And the simplistic graphics and sound effects were quite nicely done.
Also, if you hit a car too hard it will go flying, and you can just drive cars right off the road.
But overall, nicely done.
I didn't totally understand what the counter next to the timer was telling me. I have no idea how many cars I got through, but it had to be at least 30. A little refining of the driving physics and maybe some cleanup on what the numbers mean, and you would have something that a ton of people would enjoy. That said, this game is still great as it is for being done in one weekend, it just has a lot of potential past LD42, I feel. Nicely done!

But overall it was fun to play. Just the driving could be better.
The game is aesthetically pleasing and the audio part fits well. I played multiple runs on the web build and everything was fine, everything went smoothly.
The level design is well thought, it's minimalist / compact but enough and it helps focusing on the action.
The concept to lock some places to only specific colors is a unexpected and uncommon concept, it adds difficulty without being unfair.
I must admit at first I didn't understand what was the purpose of the yellow board^^" But the gameplay is correct, it's a bit hard to park the cars nicely on some places but I suppose it's on purpose.
Adding a counter for cars parked & "unparked" would be great.
Anyway, great job, especially for a one-person team! :)
I'd like to see colliders along the left/bottom edge of the environment because atm you can drive cars offscreen to prevent from losing. In-game instructions would be nice as well.
Great submission!
But regardless, good effort you did there :)
Visuals and audio are great. The controls took a little getting used to at first, but I was able to get the hang of it quickly.
There were a couple of times where I would ram one car into another and it would send it flying off screen. I'm not sure if this was intentional, but it provided good humor on the stream.
Really solid entry and will definitely be coming back to this.
Here is a link to the play through from the stream:

I haven't dont many 3d work but i wonder if the car being flipped over is a lot of physics in unity? it seems like very hard to make for me. The music is a bit annoying but is probably fitting for this game. (oh wait, i dont have to vote for music.)
Well done! ^_^
The graphics suit it well, and I actually really like the fact that you can park the car anyways you like and it still counts for full points (mostly it's hard for me to beat the timer before the space even becomes an issue, but also because it makes the whole scene look funnier). Super fun and funny game.
The controls feel pretty good, and the bumping / flying of cars is quite hilarious.
The time element feels a bit superflous, I would love to play this game with no time pressure, or with a lot less time pressure.
Anyway the game was great and I hope you'll keep working on it!
