Shooting Mama by Dororo

[raw]
made by Dororo for LD 41 (JAM)

A mixture of a cooking simulator :hamburger: and a shooting game :gun: The objective of the game is to complete the orders. Use WASD to move around the kitchen and click to select the ingredient. Once your ingredients begin to rave, use Q to switch to shooting mode. Shoot and collect the ingredient with click. Use Q to switch back to cooking mode and continue cooking.

CLEARER EXPLANATION: The objective is to deliver as many hamburgers as we can, aproaching to the ingredients we need, click on them and placing them on the table. Then we have to press E to craft our burger and deliver it to our customer. But, be careful!!! Some ingredients will start running away, because they are aware of their terrible fate. If an ingredient starts running, you can’t take more from the table. You will have to HUNT it. Press Q and start shooting, get it, and place it on the table aswell. But don’t get crazy and kill them all, because you will waste food ;)

Hilarious idea: Shooting ingredients while they're dancing around me, lol ^^
But somehow I didn't get how to out the order together. A bit stressfull it is, but really funny idea and artwork.

Thanks for the comments! <3

For those who don't understand the game, we are very sorry and I'm going to try to explain it clearer.

Surprisingly fun! Takes a bit of getting used to but once you do, but can be a bit addicting after. Looks like the type of game that can be polished and sold on steam too.

Fun game ! It's pretty good !
Maybe the transitions between the main screen and the game could have been a litte faster...
And it took me 1day (in the game) to understand the mechanic, and after that it was fun to play ! :D
Great job guys !

@NenadAkanovic We know it's hard to understand it at first sight, and we are sorry for that. We did our best to try to explain it properly, although it's not that easy xD
Thank you for playing, tho. You all made our day!

It's a bit too confusing to play (no idea what I *should* be doing), but I had fun just shooting the ingredients!

Very cool ! Love the combination between cooking games and shooter ! Very funny ! Also, the end is a very good idea !
There is just one thing a little annoying. When you cook your burger the animation is a bit too long and the customer time is maybe too short.
Fun game !

Hi there! This was a pretty fun game, liked the two genres you chose to put together.

The game is a little bit hard to understand at first. The pacing during the first day is quite rushed, slowing that one down would probably help players understand the core mechanics. I'd even suggest pausing everything until the player completes the first burguer, creating a safe space to experiment before unleashing the whole thing.

I enjoyed playing through the whole week, the only thing that kinda got in the way was how sometimes the character doesn't pick up the food. I'd try expanding the area of interaction with each ingredient and adding some more feedback when you pick up something.

But those are just some notes on polishing. It's cool, fun and you finished on time. Keep up the good work! :-)

Patron - One Cheeseburger with pickle please.
Cook assembles burger, "You said you wanted pickle on that?"
Patron - Yes please
Cook cocks AK-47 "Sure thing"
Offstage BAM!S
Flops burger on the counter "With pickle" says the cook.

Interesting idea. I think the divided kitchen was a little challenging for starting out. A lot of ingredients and once they GOT UP AND RAN AROUND ON THE FLOOR! (sorry, that was hilarious), it was hard to see where what you needed was supposed to be. The order of play was a little unclear and it would have been nice to have some sort of indication of where to place the meal when it was ready. A more in depth tutorial would have gone a long way in opening up this game to more players.

That being said, the idea is hilarious and it would be cool to see the idea furthered into something more. Great entry!

Too bad you don't apply for graphics, because it looks great. It kinda reminds me Salad FIngers, don't know why. All and all a pretty decent entry :)

I played for awhile, because this game is actually fun. Great job! I love the fleeing ingredients and it was fun to open fire on some cheese =). A quick suggestion would be to add differing points depending on how fast you fulfilled the order. If that was happening, I apologize as I may have not noticed through my frantic clicking and shooting lol

Beautiful game!

Things get complicated when all the ingredients are running around the kitchen and at first I didn't understand how to play, but after a few tries it is funny and I improved a bit.

Nice idea, graphics and music, and well executed!

Hello there everyone! We’ve decided to let you vote in the graphics category after a quick chat between our teammembers. Some of the images were taken from the internet (The food and the customers hair) and adapted into the game, that’s why we didn’t participate in the graphics category.

After all been said, I want to thank you all for playing the game and reviewing it. Seeing such positive feedback in our first game for a gamejam is really heartwarming! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
See you at LD-42!

Locurote de juego! Muy interesante la mezcla de juego de cocina y shooter. Lo único a mejorar que os diría serían los controles del personaje, que a mi parecer son un poco raros. Apoyo desde ESNE! Un saludo!
