Ventureville by Alex_ADEdge
Small team jam entry - beat'em up cross farming simulator with isometric RTS elements.
The game is currently hosted here: http://www.delta-edge.com/Ventureville
*note - some cartoon violence/blood
Post Jam (version 2.0) is also now up: http://www.delta-edge.com/Ventureville_v2/
Changelog is in this post: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/ventureville/ventureville-post-jam-edition
Ventureville puts you in charge of a small farm, surrounded by wilderness and bandit villages that are different every time you play. The bandits will randomly attack (listen for the music cue) and its up to you to save your animals and crops.
We ended up treating the whole thing like a compo in a few ways which I always find is the better way to go about a LD! That is, we made everything you see in the game over the 72 hours - no foundation code or previously designed assets at all - even all of the music was made over the weekend!
Unfortunately didnt get building mechanics done, or the resource mechanics that would have allowed for materials for building. Only 1 wave of bandits will spawn currently (altho they will attack multiple times until you kill them all!). And overall it needs better AI and balancing, sometimes youll get completely swarmed by bandits, other times its pretty easy. Very much a prototype of a bigger game that our team of 3(ish) wasnt able to realise during the Jam. But we gave it a good shot!

@tokkiseul Thanks, yeh I had a brainwave early on about doing the menu screen inside the game. During LD40 I wasted a lot of time setting up menus so combining it with the game itself meant we could have a cool little start area + a testing zone during development. +never had to manage or switch scenes at all!
@LarrySeinfeld Cheers :) And glad you liked the intro setup too!
Overall, you made something very impressive and that I would like to see in a more advanced version! Good work!
@alobker We appreciate the feedback! Ive added to my todo list for the pos-jam version to lock down the movement a bit because we agree, its like the character is on ice. Will bump up the the friction and drag.

I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.
I hope you continue with the project.

I will just rate the idea and remove one star for not completing to be fair against others.
Oh and the controls were a bit confusing as of the angle
