Battle of the (Mostly) Brains by widdershinscrustacean

made by widdershinscrustacean for LD 41 (COMPO)

Here you will find my unnatural hybrid; a Text-based Game Show.

I fully admit to spending too much time playing around with the scripting and chasing bugs, so a large portion of the text ended up being sleep-deprived placeholder. I also admit that I had tons and tons of fun making this game and hope some of that comes across when playing :)

Wow! reminds me of Welcome to Night Vale :] and i won/escaped(??!!) on the first try while only getting one question right, but i totally owned the rock, paper and scissors so that tells me i could totally win actual game shows :) we should have more game shows like that IRL

Hah, this is a pretty fun concept. Didn't understand the free typing part, but I guess that was the point. Great job on the writing. Definitely kept me guessing. Reminds me in a good way of some of the stuff in Undertale.

Funny romp through a silly show. I had fun. I felt a little frustrated by the free typing part, because there were many things to type that would be correct. Also, with the blood liters - I wasn't sure how precise you were looking for. But fun, and I enjoyed myself. Small note - pre-composed music (especially if not by you) is not allowed under the rules for Compo.

Ahaha, yep you caught me with the music thing

Basically; this game was written with the intention of adding sound effects to some events (eg. applause). Poor planning meant the time I had budgeted for sound was eaten up by restructuring/whatnot, and you ended up freaking *hearing* the silences where those sounds should have been. So I made the last-minute decision to add music instead and hopefully preserve some of the feel I was going for. I tried to make it reeeaaally clear that the music wasn't mine, hoping people could overlook the technical rule break and still enjoy the game :)

(and I tried to accept as many permutations as I could think of in the free typing section, but there's always that *one* only playtesting can find huh ;D )

I still have not got the slightest idea how the finger flicking bit was supposed to work

NaN/10 I have no idea what just happened, and you really ought to have either submitted the game as a jam entry or not used this music
