A find the dash really difficult to use.
Played a few times as the green monster started to grow larger.
Music sounds good as well as the game play. Great execution team!
The iteration speed was probably the best part. A couple of times I pressed R and started again without even thinking, like it was just another level. Which is very good!
The graphics were hard to see. The contrast between brown and green is not very high, and the bits of transparency inside the projectiles did not help. This made them tougher to see and manage from peripheral vision. The on off blinking of the boss was also somewhat distracting.
I think it could stand to start a bit slower. The initial firing and enemy tempo is quite high, but manageable.
Overall it was nice. I enjoyed it. :)
@doey Slow mo + Dash is even better :)
Btw, I think the character deserves a bit better design rather than an ellipse with an X in the middle  - so that it matches with the level of art work put on other stuffs in the game
And I'm glad that the participants made a lot of such games. I have a similar game XD

I 'm thankful for what you think about the music, I really want to focus on this part in my games cause I think it's often neglected in videogames ( which is sad )
I'll be back for the next game, and with these feedback, i know on what to focus :)
Super fun, challenging, and I also really liked how the boss was the entity that filled out the space, bumping up the difficulty just by keep on growing.
Great job!:)
My inability to master the dash I think was my downfall. I think the dash ability would be more useful if it dashed in the direction of travel instead of towards mouse.. since there didn't seem to be any reason not to be shooting I was always shooting at the boss, and so my cursor was always in his direction, meaning when i dash I would have to quick flick the mouse to where I wanted to go, and I never quite made it where I had intended. if the dash was instead based off my wasd i could have been much more exact and strategic with it.
I liked the power ups. One of the first things I saw was the boots and in that instant I thought I was going to be collecting gear which got me super excited. They ended up being non permanent upgrades, I would have liked it if they stacked... I envisioned the gear being applied to my little character, his appearance and stats changing...
The boss growing and taking up space changed the game quite a bit, not only was i now more limited in where I could go but my target was also easier to hit.
Overall it was harder than I would have liked, at least to start, but I enjoyed the game and spent more time in it than most of the others. It was oozing potential...Thanks for making it!
Oh and I enjoyed the music, im assuming its in house as this is a comp game. it was pleasant and helped draw me in.
I'll focus on training my art skill for the next LD, and so have a more appealing start menu x)
I chose to direct the dash with the cursor because you need a bit of skill ( and i think it's more precise ), and it works really well with the slow motion, you also have to choose between dashing (protect yourself) and shoot the boss (which in the last phase is better).
Only the "dual wielding" ( and i just noticed that i misspell this word xD ) is temporary, boots and the thing who is supposed to look like a bullet ( dmg up ) is permanent ( well, until you died :p )
I prefer permanent buff too, but it's true i should have make some visual effect on the character to show that he change
And yeah, i like hard game, so i won't change that point :p. ( and it's like a challenge, you don't want to quit until you beat the boss ^^ )
The music is home made ( like everything else, and that's why graphics are atrocious xD ), i appreciate that you liked it :) i really want to focus on music for the game i make.
