interesting idea where you will have to keep a balance between your income and your "dead workers".
it's great and i think that after the LD rate period, it can be a nicer game with some other features of management or even with some events during a day.

You fit the theme well, and the graphics are quite good.

Game gives a nice "tycoon manager" feel from the beginning and it plays really well because of it. Although bank deposit seems to be meaningless (or i missed something) as you can just wait until you have 5k to deposit them all.
Unity's webgl take up to 40% of CPU and mouse lags quite a lot - having an additional win build would be nice :)

I could never figure out the connection between the number displayed on the final report for the day, in terms of profits versus the number I would have starting the following day. The sacrifices didn't seem to be worth the cost. HIring level 4 employees didn't produce more money. So I ended up in debt every time. Also, I ended up further in debt than I should have, but the game didn't end. What I perceived to be bugs ruined me experience, even though I thought the game was fairly well put together.

Nice little game. I played till the end...
Good UX, I understood quickly ho to play.
Perhaps it would be better to have productivity info directly on worker sprites, and click on them to sacrifice ?

I'm not really fond of the big font for the messages, I found it difficult to read

A good base, now you can put more gameplay.

@mike-inprinciple The end of the day calculates your income and your cost of the day and it puts them together. Also, you have to reach -500 to go bankrupt, which is written in the tutorial.
Thank you for your feedback!

This is a brilliant game, especially considering this is your first jam. The controls are nice, UI works fine, and graphics overall fit. Would love to see more of you guys! :)

My initial tactic was to be a good boss and try to hire quality workers and make money with sacrificing as few as possible.... after making about 2grand, things started going south, satan was not happy with me, i was losing money.... restart the game, new tactic:
step 1: hire shit laborers
step 2: sacrifice them as fast as possible
step 3: profit
satan is happy, i am rich, lawyers, i got em....

typically i am not a fan of this type of game but it was well executed and made me want to win... graphical style was nice to look at, sounds/music were cheerful, that car beeping must be part of the music loop because it was always on point with the tune... everything here worked, felt polished, well done!

@acuriosity Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback. Fun fact: The cars would just have 20% chance to beep when passing. We would also get quite the kick out of it when it was in sync with the music ;)

Very nice pixel art, I loved it. There is a small bug in the scroll (people to sacrifice) which not only scrolls vertically but also horizontally (which is probalby not noticed when using mouse wheel to scroll). The tutorial could be a little bit better but I understood the game fast enough anyway. For a first Game Jam it's super good entry. Keep up the good work.

Phew, took me some time to figure out how to be efficient! I love the graphics, especially the money storms xD
Could have done with a button to skip the day if you don't want to do anything.

Hire a lot of cheap labor, work them 24 hours a day, then sacrifice them to Satan when they get burnt out. This is the most accurate simulation of the tech labor market I have ever seen.

Nice job on your first jam!

There is out of the box, there is bold games and then there is My little daily sacrifice. Did I enjoy it as crazy? No. Do I respect the hell out of it? HELL YEAH! Or should I say Satan Yeah? ;) Good entry!

One of the more complete games I've played this LD. Enjoyable gameplay, but a little grindy towards the end. My main complaint would be the text legibility in the explanation/instructions. It might actually be easier to read if you shrank it down some.

I did it by being a really bad manager, hire and sacrifice the guy in a sec, but who cares, at the end of the day i was making money :p I liked the sound and the graphics, the UI worked fine and the concept was instantly clear. Good job !

Interesting idea but the game play gets boring quite fast. There is not much to do and it's not really motivated, why the devil keeps showing up.

This is hilarious, the tone is so perfect. Those cute sound effects, icons and characters, played against a deal with the devil. Excellent!

Just wanted to say webgl version doesn't show the entire screen on my laptop (the left and right edges seem to be missing). I'll review this later when I can do it on my desktop.

Neat game! I especially loved the music. It was the perfect balance of bouncy and mindless. I could focus but still found myself bobbing back and forth to it. Also the cha-chings were good too. Nicely done!

Interesting concept. I feel like it needed some additional variables to make it more difficult, such as a morale reaction to the sacrifices (I mean, we peons get figuratively sacrificed by our work overlords, but if it started happening literally you'd think we'd notice!). I also think the opening pixel font was really hard to read when it's blown up large like that.

A good effort, though!

Sorry, I don't have a screenshot of the problem on my laptop yet, but I did play the game now on my desktop, so I can give a review :)

First of all - I think it looks really good, the UI is very nice and polished. The idea was really nice and I enjoyed my playthrough. I didn't really find it challenging though - I basically just bought all the interns I could, made tons of money, and then sacrificied everyone and re-hired until I got all the money. Not sure if I missed something or if it's just very simple...

Anyway, I did enjoy it, and really liked the style.

pretty interesting. I liked it. You did an awesome job of the graphics and I think I like the concept you went for. I just wish there was more to do. And Am I the only one who could not see the whole game on one screen? It was spilling off on either side for me so i had to scroll horizontally to see the rest of the content on the screen

The game is not playable on a 13'' laptop monitor with a resolution of 1280x800 :/ the control elements are just not visible. Maybe you should scale your UI with screen size. I liked the music though :D
