Newbie God by nuria-fl

[raw]
made by nuria-fl for LD 38 (JAM)

A small adventure game about a small God ruling a small world. There are 3 possible outcomes, see if you can get them all.

My first time at Ludum Dare, and also my first game ever. Hope I will get better at this.

What a cute game!
It took me quite a while until till I figured out how to get to the good ending.

Cute little game, It took me some time to get the final ending but the concept is really cool !

It reminds me Mac Pixel in a way as you are told nothing but you have to solve the puzzles.
It maybe miss a little music to get you into the mood but the result is here : you have a coo little game :D

I like your pixel art style, it's simple and pretty compares to what I do. For the gameplay, it's a bit too simple but ok for you first Ludum dare! One last thing, there's a bug when you press start, the keys information are shown only for 0.5 seconds, not enough to see what keys do what. Overall, the concept is simple and fun but not enough innovative and the game is too short.

This idea is really cool! It's good to play a non competitive game once in a while.
It's a shame there is no more levels.

Just a simple suggestion: it's weird to use Space and W. Maybe Space and Ctrl would be better. Or Z and X.

@studiocraftapps-developpement thanks for the feedback! You're right, it's too simple and short. I was just trying to finish something playable, next one will be better :) I think the bug you mention might be that the keys information just fall down the viewport? They should always be visible, but I overlooked smaller screens... Anyway, thanks for playing!

The color palette and pixel art are great. The game is short, but the replay value is assured by the pursuit of a good ending. It could have some music as well.

Great entry for your first LD. This was a fun game with good graphics, I managed to get all the endings.

Love your graphics and color palette, it expresses a very tender and cute atmosphere ! Also it make a good twist contrasting this prettiness with the action of the "newbie god". Nice entry !

Good graphics. A little bit more quests would be fine.

The game play is simple and short, but hilarious and sweet. The audio is awful and I notice you didn't have it in your scoring section. The exaggerated emotions of the characters plus the ridiculous god powers (when at first only "Wrath of God" seems to be what you can use) really make the game. I love it.

Well that was short but sweet. The control scheme was a bit unexpected, and only being able to shoot fire seemed a bit out of the ordinary. I liked the sounds, but I felt like maybe there wasn't enough audio overall in the game - the first shooting sound scared me. However, I did enjoy the art, and the outcome ending text was very cute. It was indeed a very tiny world. Not sure if it will flourish if all that exists are two people and a cat, however. :P

Ha! I really like the overall feel from the game. The graphics, gameplay, and writing work together quite well. I agree that a little bit more work could go into the audio to make sure it fits as well. A fitting soundtrack could round off the whole package quite nicely. But yeah, minor things for a Ludum Dare entry--and a first game, no less! Keep up the good work, and I love the creativity!

Loved it! Got all three endings (because I'm a "completionist" at heart)...unless you tell me there are more?? Are there more??

The audio has already been mentioned - some more "godly" sounds would have been nice - but I see you opted out of the audio so you're probably aware of that!

Nice work!

Short, fun game. Got all 3 endings, the puzzle aspect of the game took me a second to figure out. My initial thought was to somehow fill the pool with the tears of the sad woman above  I also tried to shoot the tree trunk to knock it over (cats always land on their feet!), but killed the woman instead. Whoops.

Graphics were nice, the choice of colors was very good. Mechanics were simple and easily executed, though I would personally have preferred WASD + some action keys for controls. Sound effects were nice, but a little loud and out of place with no music. Some simple beat or soft tune from BeatBox, etc. would have really tied it together.

Yay, I managed to get the three endings!

Since there weren't too many options the puzzles were relatively straightforward, but well thought. I would have easily continued playing a bit longer with more content.

Graphics were nice as well, I especially liked the colour palette, it had a relaxing vibe.

Great job! :D
