Keep The Light Alive by Aligi

[raw]
made by Aligi for LD 39 (COMPO)

You are some kind of tank, that has to keep the light alive by collecting batteries. You have to defend yourself against smaller hostile tanks. To restore your ammo you have to use the batteries. Every time you collect a battery you restore a small amount of health.

Controls

  • WASD, arrow keys:....move
  • mouse cursor:........aim
  • space, left click:...shoot
  • R, right click:......reload (needs a battery)
  • E:...................place battery (you have to be close to the battery slot)

Note

As some people in the comments pointed out the music turned out to be a bit too loud. So you probably want to turn down your volume.

High score 40 seconds... I feel like that's good... right?

The movement and shooting were both satisfying, but the music got a tiny bit repetitive... of course, I have absolutely no music in my game, so I shouldn't be talking! Anyway, good job

Control was a bit confusing, it felt like the tank should've moved in the direction the player is facing rather than in the respective direction of WASD. I couldn't figure how to pick up the batteries.
Music was quite loud too and couldn't figure out how to turn it down. Overall, a nice little game

My ammo never replenishes, the playable area is pretty crammed up for so many objects with physics and the music is a bit loud (the opposite of my game, where it's too quiet). But overall it's a nice game :)

Movement and gameplay worked fine. Really liked it how the room got darker when I forgot to reload batteries.
Sound nearly killed my ears, it was very loud and rought :)

minor feedback - you don't say if the game is for windows or mac or whatever anywhere

Good game that really used the theme in the gameplay. The gameplay was solid, no problem moving and shooting and being able to push the other tanks was great. The player was a little bit too big for the map thou.
Would maybe have liked to see some more feedback from the game about what was happining, when getting hit, running out of ammo etc.

Really nice game. You should have put the controls in-game so the players doesn't have to get out of the game to see them. I really liked the graphics , good job on that , it looks great.

Really good idea but I'm not good at it x)
Enemies should spawn at only a few points, and you should damage multiple enemies in a zone when shooting.

Nice game, but as mentioned the audio is to loud. Forgot to check the controls before starting, but figured it out.

Good concept. I like that when the generator thigys lose batteries they actually reduce your visibility so you need them to stay up for you to play better. Tha game itself feels a little difficult, you get crowded with enemies really soon. But great job!!!
