Golf N' Grenades by Imphenzia

Golf N' Grenades, made in 48 hours for Ludum Dare 41 with the theme "Combine 2 Incompatible Genres" and I decided to combine golf with blowing up/dodging zombies.
Play 9 holes at different levels of difficulty and see how few strikes you can do it in (or if you can in fact even complete all 9 holes without getting tackled by the zombies).

The ability to strafe with Q and E would make lining up a shot much easier, maybe a power bar and some more conventional golfing mechanics could make this game truly shine.
Nicely done I enjoyed playing it.
Hmm, maybe a candidate for some multiplayer as well since I need to practice that come to think of it =)
Would it make more sense to have own grenades to drop and swing at instead of scattered ones?
Awesome job!
Very nicely done, love the aesthetics! I'm astonished!
If you want you can play my golf game and leave me some feedback, just between golfers <3

It'd be great if you'd check out our game! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/rattys-stew-an-immersive-cooking-simulation
I think it would be better if you could break up the take a swing mode. And I guess it would be also better if you don't have to face the swing to 90 degree.
The Character Animation was pretty. I love this dude. And you have created so many levels. Awesome!
I would like to see a post jam version with better controlls. :D
The presentation is great -- cool low-poly art style and I love the day-night cycle. It could be interesting if the day-night cycle had some mechanical impact, like increasing the zombie spawn rate or something.
I just wish the golfer was faster and he could strafe. I wanted to kill zombies with grenades, but my aim was so poor it seemed more effective to run away from them most of the time
=)
Overall a great game and i would love to play this game again with improved controls.

This game is AWESOME! I've never played golf, but if it's anywhere as cool as this, I'm in.
Killing zombies with grenades was fun, and the ragdoll physics made it all the more exciting. I just wish walking over a dead zombie didn't kill you, but oh well.
Nicely done

Yes @jonathan-lorenz the music and low poly art was made during the 48h (can be seen in the timelapse above).
That said, you have a lot of potential here. Dodging the zombies could be a lot of fun with improved controls, and I liked that they basically kill themselves when they miss their lunge - this way you can actually defeat them with good dodging. And was that a day/night cycle?
The low-poly art is very solid, and the music is possibly the best song I heard this Ludum Dare. Maybe it didn't really capture a zombie/golf game in tone, but man it's a good track. brings me back to the old days.
I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.
I hope you continue with the project.
