It's a neat concept, besides being turn based, you have to think on your feet as you go. Unfortunately I lost because I reached a dead end and not because of a mistake, oh well. I think the game would be better if it got more challenging earlier, it feels like it takes too long to get out of the "easy phase".
Cheers, have a good day!
I suppose there isn't that much gameplay right now to comment on, but even the idea of a grid-based side-scroller where you move one space every so often has the potential for some really fun and innovative gameplay. I'd be really interested in seeing where you take this: in particular, the simultaneous strategy game on the turtle's back seems like a brilliant idea and would have fit the theme perfectly.
I completely agree that this game is better than pretty much all of Action 52, except for Cheetahmen, maybe ;) I also love the title. Nice work, and congrats on finishing!
From here on you can improve it or just take your lessons learned to the next project.
This game is a lot of fun! I very much like the control scheme, and the way that the autoscroll and the controls intersect.
- Obviously, it lacks a bit of polish;
- The difficulty seems to curve quite well!
- I would suggest showing me SOONER how to get points, either in an instruction, or by having a prey animal spawn early on.
Good job! :D

I could even see just a more polished version of this game optimized for phones (with touch screen controls) because of the bite-sized nature of the gameplay.
Good luck with wherever you take it and congrats on completing Ludum Dare!!
The sprites of the sharks were well done, very easy to tell which direction they are about to go.
My only problem with it is that while it's turn based, collisions seem to happen somewhere in the middle of each frame? If an enemy is moving to the square you are occupying as you are moving away, you still die. It would be nice if you could avoid losing in these situations (i.e. the "turtle moving" takes place before the "enemy moving" in the game logic) to encourage riskier plays :)
Well done!
Also, I laughed at "You dead".
