The tunnel at the end of the light by m11

[raw]
made by m11 for LD 39 (JAM)

A short bit of interactive (comedy science) fiction; navigate letters from your parents as they join a colony… and discover it has a bit of an energy problem.

Playable at: http://textadventures.co.uk/games/view/an94-zmuokgt3nzkcsm90q/the-tunnel-at-the-end-of-the-light

Created using Quest (because my coding 'skills' leave a lot to be desired), and written during the course of a five-hour train journey (because Ludum Dare #39 coincides with the start of the Edinburgh Fringe this year). Should take ~10 minutes to complete (with two different endings).

Overall a good attempt, and I was starting to become interested in the characters but then it ended so suddenly and I was a little unsure what actually happened. Even after another few play-throughs, I couldn't figure out the background to why he left the planet, and the relationship between Henry and this person. Maybe I missed something...
The playthrough could have been improved by adding more pathways to take, as there were only small differences in the letters written dependent on the choices the player makes. But I really liked where the story was going.

Interesting read. Would have liked more pathways for the story to go.

Enjoyable read. Mommy(my first guess for the writing person) only was after money after all? I offered her all the time but she wouldn't take it^^ So I refused to give money for daddy XP
I can only approve of the suggestions hecticgrape made.

There where some funny passages (e.g. supply&demand).
A bit short, but fun experience

Interesting story! I included it in my Ludum Dare 39 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUVd1KNAvFY
