Plot

Marhuender, the young goblin, has been promoted from Torture Room Cleaner to Boiler Room Slave.

The interview with the new boss is kind of awkward.

Goblin: Hi! My name is...

Boss: Not interested… you feed boilers, or you die.

Goblin: What happened to the other boiler dude? Was he promoted too?

Boss: No, he didn’t feed boilers. He feeding boiler lot better now. From INSIDE.

Goblin: Oh, hehehe, nice… and the boilers are for…?

Boss: No questions. You feed boilers, or you die.

Goblin: Ok pal.

Boss: No pal. You feed boilers, or you die.

Boilers are running out of power and you are the one in charge to feed them with coal.If you are run out of coal, you have to activate the lever to receive more coal. Activate it several of times to receive an extra load. If 2 or more boilers are off, your boss will not be happy at all...

You can play the WebGL version on your browser (just remember to go fullscreen! :D). Enjoy it and don't hesitate to post here your highest scores!

IMPORTANT!! In some PC's the WebGL version doesn't run smoothly! If it is your case, please download the windows version and it should solve the issues. Sorry for the inconveniences!

Great stuff! I liked the art. Wish there were more SFX and the menu transitions were awkwardly long. It fits with the theme very well, good job!

Nice entry. Like the mood and the art, but miss a little more sound. Great job

The art is so well made 10/10, really good, the sound is good too, the gameplay is not bad, could be a little bit better, but I dont know what I would change in order to improve the gameplay =p. But is a cool game

*Maybe would be good fix the size of the window on the html version, besides that a good game

The art is fantastic! Gameplay is a little boring, but fine nonetheless. A great entry overall.

Art fits the game perfectly. I miss some final goal (other than getting thrown into boiler of course). Gameplay gets repetitive quite fast though (even though the power ups make it a bit more lively).

WebGL version ran smoothly for me (and I'm often having problem with those).

Cool! The art and the Goblin animation are so good and the gameplay is really fun.
A simple but well executed idea! :D

The gameplay is repetitive and you can just run in circles endlessly to score high...
but I like how you still have a chance to escape the boss/foreman/slaver when a boiler is depleted.

Also it looks good, and the scene just misses a background loop for the atmosphere to be complete.

Nice entry overall!

Allright. I'll start with the good things: the 3d art is amazing. It's hard to see 3D projects in jams, so you have that. I like the ideea, it's a good resources managing game. Otherwise, I feel the character kinda slow and messy (I know, 3d in 3 days), but this make me play a little bit stressed. I don't want to be mean, I know this is a lot of work, and it is a good overall experience! Great job and I hope I've been helpful. Good luck!

Great visuals!! The game was frustratingly slow though, and made it impossible to play well. Maybe it's because of the web version, I'll give the desktop version a try! The concept is good!

Great art, fun little game, took me a few to notice you can grab several pieces of coal. Only issue i really had with was that the coal ran out quit quickly.

Nice concept and great graphics. The inertia of the character makes him slide a bit too much and makes control difficult. Overall a solid entry!

Very solid entry, I loved the graphics and overall mood!

The take on the theme was quite straightforward, with simple but effective and fun mechanics. The losing sequence in particular was brilliant and being able to recover once it triggers felt just great! :grinning:

Congrats, you've done an awesome job!

PS: Marhuender...

i love the graphics! doing 3d art in 3 days is impressive. the controls were a little too rough for me for the energy bars to be going down that fast.

Nice humor in the backstory to get you going, not sure if I would call that a promotion though ;), however I found it difficult to control. I kept wanted to move with the mouse and simply click where to go or use the space bar to interact since the main mechanic is to pick up the coal and feed it to the boilers, I wanted a larger button to avoid mistakes. Took me a bit to realize I could pick up multiple coals at a time. Though you have the fire dim as the boiler loses power, the light in front of the boiler does not dim making it hard to tell once one is more critical.

This game was fun to play. It was similar to my game like you said. When the big buy started chasing me i ran in circles screaming "what do i do?!!?" :scream: then it got me...
My record so far is '04:02' after i learned the cycle. It could be higher but every time i accidentally collide with the big guy when trying to fill the most left one.

Really nice game~ The gameplay was simple enough to understand after a minute or two, but it certainly isn't easy~ I like the fact that you can run from the ogre to get that few precious seconds of time for your final score! Despite being almost overly simple, it still gets the job done, and it's an enjoyable experience that's just right in length. Good job!

Dang. That was pretty slick. I think my favorite part was the fact that punishment is not guaranteed - you have a chance for recovery and as such, can actually avoid the boss. That was pretty slick.

The sound effect of the boss getting angry was a nice touch, although the sounds of the pickup did get a bit tiresome after a while. The only other things I'd say is that I still have no idea what half of the pickups did. A bit of indication or a text flash that comes up when you pick up an item is a nice way to teach the player what those are.

Otherwise, a fine job, folks.

Great, professional looking art and UI. The controls could've used some tightening up but I guess that did induce a little bit of panic in me as I tried to optimize my job. Perhaps if the boilers did slightly different things it could've shaken up the gameplay a tad more.

Really fun idea, it looks great too and the sounds were funny. Nice variety added by the powerups. Minor complaint would be that the character would often slip past the door I was trying to aim for. I'm not sure if this was intentional but I think the game was difficult enough already, so the interaction between the player and the doors could have been tightened up and it would still be fun I think. All in all great work, the game is fun and addictive :)

Interesting idea, but a little too hard in my opinion. Maybe levels could be better (for exemple, in the level 1, we just have one boiler to feed, etc ... with maybe a story - you could not make a story in 72 hours, I know, but if you continue working on it, it could be cool). Art is cool, sounds too (it lacks music, but it's ok). Overall cool game. Congrats :)

Nice game! It started to feel a lot easier once I only focused on prioritizing 4 boilers and letting the 5th drain down, at that point I felt like I could keep surviving as long as I didn't make any mistakes. It would be nice if the difficulty increased as you made it further! Another thing is I found it odd that the menus require using the mouse, when the in-game controls are on the keyboard. The concept is fun, and it was funny when the brute came to throw me in the fire, hah.

Great Job! So addictive since the first time. The graphics looks cool, you could make in a few days an attractive and funny game.
Perhaps the gameplay is a bit hard from the start, but seconds later you can't stop playing it

Nice 3d art and setting, kinda reminded me of Orcs Must Die for some reason. The only thing I would add gameplaywise would be a circle or area highlighted in front of the furnaces to tell where do you need to be to put coal in. Really good job!

(I could only play on the html version since the windows one always crashed here, I don't know why.)

Nice little game. There is a little inertia in the gnome which make it rather hard to control. I enjoyed the fact that it's not an insta-death but you can recover from it. Nice sound effect. Overall good.

I like the art but controlling the character feels sort of floaty. I liked that you could escape the dude that comes to game over you by feeding the fires. Nice short game.

Really smooth graphics and a hilarious premise; I found the goblin a bit difficult to control around the coal, but the boss backing away if you manage to yolo your way to a boiler in time is a nice touch.

Really started to enjoy this once I realized I could carry more than one piece of coal at at time :P Made it to 2:05 - felt like a decent run. Really nice art, and pretty addictive gameplay - great work!
