Get off my lawn, alien punks!

Inspired by good old Contra games, this game is about man trying protect his planet from alien invaders, but every time he cleans his planet, there are new ones to come! That's frustrating!

CONTROLS:

W, A, S, D / Arrows - Movement

Ctrl / < - Fire

Space - Jump

If you are hurt, small enemies can drop medi-kits, bigger enemies can drop tech to improve your gun, currently only firerate.

SOME NOTES: Boss at the end of level wasn't finished, so just pretend that he is dangerous! So when you do enough damage, he just flies away and you are getting back in menu.

Originaly idea was that planet consists of 4 levels, and after completion (aka trip around this small world) you would be able to go for another round on higher difficulty.

Wow this game is hella good, The hand painted assets, and intros are full of character, and there are animations for deaths and even aiming you gun. Small touches like the main character having a drop shadow, and design choices like having the bugs come at you from behind in twos so you have to dodge them really make the game. I love the absurd fire rate too, my only complaint is that the boss takes almost no hits before it leaves, and that I can't see who made it in the credits :(. Anyway, best game I've played so far, please throw some twitter links or something in so I can follow you!

Hey! This game is great, gameplay is really dynamic and fresh. Obviating the small bugs in animations, works fine, also that hand-painted assets are really cool. Good job!!

Hey I really liked this game. The art style and sound design do a lot to make the game unique. I also liked how you managed to keep the mechanics themselves simple and easy to understand; I was able to get right in without a learning period, which is always good.

I did have an issue with the end boss; the upwards aiming isn't always reliable to the keypress, but I'm sure that can be fixed. I also for some reason expected a defend the point style game, so I spent the first 5 minutes hanging around at the start stopping the enemies from leaving the stage. Maybe that's just because I'm dumb! =)

Anyway, great job! Hope you had fun this year. We certainly did.

Great job on music and the Art style is solid. There were a few things that I wasn't sure of, like what exactly the chips did... as it was a little inconsistant. Dying and Winning just kicked me into the main menu so I was never quite sure if I managed to beat it or not.

Very fun contra style game.

Had a blast with this but the game is very hard with the huge endless waves of enemies.

Simple throwback to classic Contra, but surprisingly fun. Art is pleasant for the eyes too. It was sometimes hard to stay on the ground with monsters crawling below. Would love to see more action from the final boss (I didn't even notice I destroyed the guy since I was instantly kicked back to menu:P).

A little glitch: sometimes medi-kits don't have any effect on health, or their triggers don't activate (even with low life). Lacks of game design, but mechanics are good. And the art is great! Good game overall!

Really cool game. It's a shame it's so short. The graphics are fantastic and the music is cool. The short animation when you start is a nice touch. The gameplay is pretty fun too, though I would have liked a bit more variety in enemies and a more challenging final boss.

That character really knows how to overdo their jumps! Nice game once I got the hang of the controls. Controls worked well, but I only realized on the boss that I could shoot upwards and even then it was a bit weird that I had to run for the upwards aim to work. Nice graphics and well made entry.

Those flips during his jumps! ^^

Nice little contra-like shooter (flip jumps - eh?). Some feedback: It seems the hitbox for picking up stuff is a bit too small. Also it's a pity you can't shoot up or down without moving.

Besides that nice game. The boss at the end seemed dangerous, but only until he left after some shots. ^^
But the game runs and can be extended. :-)
