[raw]
made by ghostlygurustudios for LD 40 (COMPO)

I made this pretty quickly.. but not nearly quickly enough for how i didnt get enough done.. anyways.. could have been okay if i knew what the hell i was doing.. Love - @futuristteletex

Vault Loot!

Can you escape the bank after robbing it with a toy gun? The more loot you grab the heavier and slower you move!... But.. dont worry there really isn't that many security guards... should be a cakewalk....

Instructions: Grab as much loot as possible... Drop what you need to in order to avoid security! Bring loot to the drop off point and once you feel you have enough loot hit the exit and hope you get a highscore!

Controls: Arrow keys move you.... and Right Shift drops loot so you can move faster!

Great game! I managed to get 313 loot!

Could do with some music/sound effects, but that didn't really take away from the game.

This games needs audio.. urgently...
took me some time to figure out how to move...
probably, would be nice to have it on the screen, or something like it.

congratz

When the game loaded I had no idea where I was and I couldn't read what was on the screen at the time and ended up getting busted quickly. After realizing where I was and what needed to be done, I had fun with the game.

I like this style of games. I will not lie though, I did see a game similar to this one where you are a burglar, and you steal things from people's home and you get heavier as you steal, and you have to find an exit. I forgot his username but it's a game for LD40. Anyways, your version is also good. You have cops chasing you whereas the other has just a timer. The cops are fun to see how to trick them, the pixel art is neatly done.

I only wish there was some more sounds with this game, other wise I like it! Good job! :)

I liked the idea, and had fun with it. The black text over the middle of the screen is very difficult to read. Aside from that, the idea works, and it was fun for the little bit I played of it.

I love how good the loot sprites look; really makes me want to collect everything I see! The main thing is having played a good number of these already, "resource makes you heavier" is a pretty standard take on the theme, so in exchange I was hoping to see a bit more polish on the moment to moment gameplay. There are too many exact boxy collisions going on in the level which is frustrating whether or not I have much loot on me, and given that I already have to worry about loot slowing me down I kind of wish the level itself didn't stop me on every half corner of a box I run into. This is pretty close to being a great product so I'm sure a week or two of work will make this feel complete. Good work!

I like the overall game, but the collisions sometimes slowed me when they didn't have to. The lack of sounds turns off the mood. The sprites are very cool and the design of the bank seems good designed.

Pretty cool man, nice graphics, I'd hire you :P

It'd have been cool with a couple of sfx here and there, Congrats on the entry!

I died at the very beginning, because I did't knew that the game had already begun xD I think that everything is to small - it was very confusing at the beginning - but after some time I was enjoying the gameplay. Nice work ;)

Right shift? Do you mean Left Shift? I couldn't find the drop off point at first.

Great game! It was fun to see someone else have the same idea with looting carrying you down, and this was well executed. Very impressed!

Tight execution with a bright graphical style. Good premise for an arcade game.

It was a lot of fun to run to the exit. I agree with everyone else that it could definitively be awesome with some quirky sound effects or at the very least a music track.

For a non-programmer, this is a very nice, well-built game. Heck, even if you were a programmer, this is a very nice little game. Conceptually it suits the theme beautifully. You can imagine a thief stuffing one too many gold bars in his jacket and getting busted. Collision detection seemed pretty solid. But I'd say for sure the most interesting / beautiful facet is the art. The simple pixel style with clean sprite sheets are a really nice feature to see here. Good job.

wow thanks a lot everyone! a lot of kind words considering i really sorta dont know what i am doing haha.. but im starting to figure this non-art side of stuff out a bit better apparently.. im definitely gonna add in sfx/music once the rating is over and try to clean it up a bit maybe too.. I am currently back to work on a weird 3d game.. and just re-released a demo of a game ive sorta put on the back burner right now due to needing monies.. thanks for checking out my game and voting those of you who have so far! heres another thing i made: https://ghostlygurustudios.itch.io/routenowhere
