Space Robots: Fight for Freedom by Fenderbate

[raw]
made by Fenderbate for LD 44 (COMPO)

ss1.png ss2.png

The robots made by humans have turned against them. They started to build a new civilization, but bumped into another civilization and angered them and have to pay them if they want to stay alive. Now the robots have 2 choices: Pay the aliens until they get wiped out, or conquer the humans and with their technology, destroy the aliens as well.

The game was made in a hurry and got submitted pretty early, so expect bugs

CONTROLS

  • Left flick - ineract
  • Right click / Scroll wheel + move mouse - move camera
  • Scroll up/down - zoom in/out

PROGRAMS USED

  • Engine: Godot 3.1
  • Art: Paint.net
  • Music: Bosca Ceoil

NOTES

  • The game appears to be a bit blurry in the web version. If you want the crispy pixel perfect-ness you'll have to download the game :frowning2:
  • If you notice any typos in the game, or here in the description, please, let me know!

FIXED BUGS

  • After winning, the lost screen still appears
  • When a RAID was completed, the STOP RAID button stayed visible

Super well done! Really good quality. It's a bit difficult, but I might just be bad at it though.

Has a lot of potential. Good execution of theme. No problem understanding how everything works. Only issue is that when I won, it said I failed. It's okay though because I know I won :)

This game is really nice! The music is subtle but really makes the game a lot better, the gameplay is solid, just a tad easy, and the art is great! Overall just a great entry. Maybe a main menu would've been a nice extra touch.

Nice little game, I won  and then I lost

Was presented with the message ** Hooray we have taken over Humpa **, and like 7 seconds after that saw the screen with the message ** we didn't pay in time, the aliens have come for us **. So did I win or lose?

I liked the music, it really set the tone for the game. I wish it was a bit longer

Nice effort overall.

I liked this a lot. The art was nice to look at. It would probably be more interesting if the claim took a fixed amount of lives instead of just half of the remaining lives.

I love the scrolling effect on the planets! Really well done. Maybe they could scroll in different directions though. The only thing missing is maybe some animations during raids, like some small explotions or something.

Well done

This is a neat prototype for what could be a really cool game with more depth and polish. I mean, it's already pretty cool (I love space games) don't get me wrong!

The graphic is lovely! and I like the little dots which represent the alien, and the nice ambient music! But I think there is some imbalance, and the Core gameplay is not very fun, the win/lose screen is kind of ambiguous.

Nice pixel art, I liked the strategy aspect of growing the colonies and waiting for correct time to claim them.
For graphics, I would reccomend doing a pixel perfect one as the aliasing can mess some of fonts etc. (But this is just personal aesthetics taste) Nice work!

Really liked this. The visuals are spot on, very pleasant to the eye. I like how the game tasks you with balancing time and resources, and how it gives you an objective to strive for. Super well done!

Even giving it's due to godot and other kinda cheating in my opinion means to create game in such short time perion this game looks the most complete in this LD. Graphics are really solid and remind me of something like old X-Com. Core mechanic is limited by the small amount of planets but nevertheless is quite interesting.
