Goblin Castle by johnnysix

[raw]
made by johnnysix for LD 44 (COMPO)

You had a nice dwarf castle, then the goblins came along and ruined it!

Link works on desktop and mobile.

If I'd have had more time, I would've hidden the mobile controls when playing on desktop.

I'd also have fixed the gold button which I broke in the final 2 minutes..

I like the art and the music, but the gold went into the negatives, also the jumping seems a little unfair since its easy to bonk off the ceiling, variable jump height would have been better I think.

I love the art and the music I just feel that the gameplay was boring and short.

I like the art and damage reaction. I could see this being pretty fun. I was confused if I finished it or just died at the end :)

The art is the strong part of your game, I spend almost 2 minutes hitting every button of the keyboard looking for the gold button :v it's a great looking game, the music fit's perfect the atmosphere of the level and I love the jump animation. Congratulations!

Dude, the graphics and sound design are amazing, but come on! The control of the game is very unresponsive and the lack of invisibility frame when you get hit makes it possible to get stunned locked. Besides these 2 things, the game quite good, especially with a cutscene. Idk, maybe next time make a mobile OR desktop game, not both. Good luck with your next project!

Love the art and music! I dont quite get what the gold button does. Also I wasnt able to pickup the dropped coins, but I was satisfied with the amount of gold at the end :P

It seems like a good start, but it is quite short.

A pretty good work, even if I thought that the jump is brutale XD The overall game was fun to play :)

I thought it was funny that you can get comboed by the goblins and spikes. The game seemed to just randomly return to the title screen after I passed a certain point, is that the ending or a bug?

I love the graphics and the sound design, but I agree with the others, I did not get the controls

As others have said, the graphics are pretty sweet and the sound is good but the controls leave something to be desired - needs some instructions as to what keys do what. The jump is too powerful and jumping from a high place is pot luck. Good effort on your mini desk though :D

I liked it. Nice graphics and controls. Have to agree with the others that it felt a bit short.

Nice art and sound. I can't play because I can' jump over spikes but I can't die (I would like to see this animation) Amount of coins turned on negative numbers...

Feels like a polished game. Only quite short. Graphics and audio is well done. Can I use the hammer? :-O

@richard-jedlicka - I ran out of time sadly, but the hammer was supposed to activate if you pushed down when you landed , rattle the ground, and shake nearby goblins out of their hiding places ( and possibly rattle their coins out! ) .

I loved the goblins with their noses sticking out and all the animations. Great job on them!

Graphics are quite polished for a 48h compo. Mucis/audio is very good and it's a funny interpretation of the theme. It's obvious that you ran out of time to balance the controls/gameplay and to add content but it's a really good job
